We are doing a Father Son weekend the first weekend in October. 4 Fathers and Sons. Initially set up to possibly go to Raiders/Bills game
Fathers are in our late 50s and sons in late 20s.
Get in Friday afternoon and probably play golf on Saturday morning and Sunday hang and watch football.
Hearing all that is shut down I worry how much entertainment there will be for the sons. They are certainly free to head out on their own. But to where?

Vegas isn't the adult town it used to be. Plenty of things for them to go do. Even better if you get off the damn Strip. Check out Trip Advisor for some options.

thought masks aren’t required outdoors?

I’d conservatively say 80% of the people I saw outdoors were wearing their mask, even if they were at a reasonable social distance from others. So as far as the mask thing goes I felt safe.

And FWIW our rental car shuttle driver said that “right now Vegas is approximately 60% open.”

“People engaging in outdoor recreation like swimming, walking, hiking, biking or running as long as they can remain socially distant from others.”

Masks are uncomfortable and it’s difficult to enjoy activities while wearing one. My travel plans and money are shelved until this isn’t a problem.

I understand where your coming from but I’m not playing the waiting game any longer. LV with my son in early October followed by Key West and Islamorada in late October.
We may have to wear masks often but there will be cocktails in hand often enough where we won’t.

just want to make sure you know the raiders wont have any fans for their games. We are going in November mainly for the raider game but I guess we will just gamble and sight see now and go to a game next year

We do know that. When we set this up after the schedule was released we check ticket prices and decided we were probably just going to hang at the sports book in one of the casinos.
I wouldn’t mind any recommendations for a good place on the strip for breakfast and another for dinner. A good place to go drink and eat. Doesn’t have to be high end.

Breakfast:
Hash House A Go Go
House of Blues

Dinner:
Voodoo Lounge
Tender Steakhouse
Tacos & Tequila

The restaurants in the Wynn/Encore are legit as well. Just depends on what you’re looking for.

I love Batista's Hole in the Wall. There's a dive bar next door that's sort of unique that might be worth a few beers (they're cheap!). Herbs & Rye is a fabulous off strip steakhouse with great happy hour prices for steak and a really good bar. You used to need reservations. But you may not want to leave the strip. I think The Peppermill is fun for an old school Vegas feel, but it's not a hang out and drink kind of place. The Border Grill at Mandalay Bay has a great brunch.

I need to plan a Vegas trip! Missing it! I love Vegas!

Thank you for the last 3 responses. I am looking forward to the trip. I understand the restrictions but we will have a blast.
I love the off the beaten path places.

Go to old downtown Vegas at least one night. I actually prefer it to the strip now

Looks like Saturday we are playing golf in the morning, clean up and head over to a Fremont. Not sure what time the Tigers are playing that day and may have to miss it. Thank God we are playing Vandy.

Agreed. You should at least see Fremont.

I always recommend these:

1. Walk the strip and pop in and out of all the casinos.
2. See the Bellagio Fountains and the Conservatory
3. See Vegas from up high. The High Roller or the Stratosphere have great deals (Strat 107 Lounge has a happy hour and you can go up the elevator for free to the lounge...there's always a groupon or livingsocial deal for the High Roller.) There are also numerous bar/restaurants on the top of hotels.
4. Hit up some fun bars. Not sure how many are open now.
5. See a show. I think they are mostly dark.
6. Have a fabulous meal. There are great restaurants in Vegas.

Don't go to Fremont too early in the day. It's a bit like going to Bourbon Street.

None, they’re all still closed. Hopefully that changes in the next month. Fremont St was more crowded than I thought it’d be but not much going on there either.

Wanted to chime in, if y’all enjoy kitschy type places, The Golden Tiki bar in Chinatown is amazing. They’re open, check their Facebook page for info about group reservations. Also would suggest checking out the old Sigma Derby game in the D (downtown) if it’s operational.
