Hotel in Grindelwald

I need to book one more night on a trip I start Tuesday. Will be in the Alsace region, then flying out of Zurich.
I’ve stayed in Interlaken a few times, but would like to try a night on Grindelwald. None of the hotels really strike me as anything special. I’m not looking to drop a 4 digit number on a room, but even the $4-500 options are just kind of “meh”.
Anybody got insight that I’m just not picking up from TripAdvisor or Expedia?

Try Murren instead. We’re going next year and I’m looking there. Seems to be many good options

I stayed at the sunstar hotel Grindelwald and it was awesome, highly recommend
Sauna/steam rooms, great views, easily walkable to everything in town, excellent food at the restaurant

Right now, they are probably my first choice. Any idea if Eiger view rooms are really looking out on it?

I’ve thought about that, but I like the idea of just walking out from the hotel to the trails around Grindelwald. I may be overthinking that, though.

I had a view facing the gondola side of the mountain (think it's opposite from what you're referring) and I thought it was still beautiful. How much is the cost difference?
Sorry misread your question. I am pretty sure those rooms face the mountains directly

Eiger-facing is generally a $100 premium.
If it was going to be a full moon, that would probably be a nice night view. As it is, with the days shortening, I’m just not sure how much we will be able to appreciate it.

I can echo the sunstar hotel Grindelwald. great views of the Eiger. Worth the premium to wake up looking up at those mountains.

I know it’s on the other side, but we stayed at Hotel Silberhorn in Wengen. Was easy enough to get in and out of and awesome views!

Booked exactly that last night. Thanks, guys.
Anybody have restaurant recommendations?

Wasn’t overly impressed by the food in Grindelwald but if you go to Zermatt then get reservations for Alpine Gourmet Prato Borni. Expensive but well worth it. The scenery in Grindelwald is worth everything.

Grindelwald is beautiful but a little pricey and much busier. I prefer Lauterbrunnen myself. The nearby villages of wengen and murren are amazing also. Can’t go wrong anywhere in that region though. I went in June and it was trip of a lifetime.
