Family has wanted to go to this for awhile. We just booked our tickets and leave early Saturday. Anyone been to this event?

Yeah. It’s pretty tight. You’ll like it.

Born in Natchez and spent many ballon festival weekends there from 1995-2007. It was the best weekend of the year in that quiet town. Music lineup is meh. Better Than Ezra one year was cool.
As usual…. Be sure to hit up Fat Mamas.
Seeing all the balloons up in the sky on a crisp, clear fall morning is badass.
ETA- Weather will be amazing this weekend. Have fun!

I recommend bringing chairs for the festival. It will be a fun time. The festival part did not happen last year so everyone is excited for it to be back. Fingers crossed it's not too windy for balloon flights on Saturday.

It’s a good time!
There are several good restaurants in town like Pearl Street Pasta, Magnolia Grill, The Castle, The Camp, The Kitchen, and Slick Rick’s.
Several fun bars such as 100 Main, the Under the Hill Saloon, the Pub, and I hear Smoot’s is open for the weekend.
The brewery has great pizzas, calzones, and beer.
I never personally got all the Fat Mama’s hype (although I know that is sacrilegious to say in certain company). It’s just okay IMO.
Natchez Coffee Company is probably your best bet for hangover grub/coffee since I don’t think Little Easy or Steampunk Coffee will be open.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. There’s very limited information about the food inside the festival. How does it work? Food trucks? Set up tents with vendors from local restaurants etc.?

It's set up like a typical parish fair with a carnival area and booths. You could also walk to a local restaurant easily.

Been a few times. Going again this year. Like others said: brewery, smoots, corner bar.
I’ll add Little Easy and Pearl St Pasta to the mix
And the Camp

I second The Camp. Decent beer selection. Get the fried pickles/jalapeños.
Someone on here turned me on to The Donut Shop. Great place for pastries and, better to me, the little delta style tamales. There’s usually a line.

There are usually some local restaurants that have food booths set up along with your typical fair type food options. As was mentioned, you can walk to 100 main (old bowies) and Fat Mamas very easily. Fat Mamas is known for tamales but I'd skip them and go for the ham and cheese poboy if you choose to eat there. If you want to go to The Camp I'd say just bite the bullet and walk down because parking is limited under the hill. The Natchez Brewing Co is walkable and has great pizza. I havent been to "The Kitchen" on main since the new chef took over but have heard good things.
