a little south or east of there.
Looking to get out of town for four nights during late Feb. during Mardi Gras. Didn't really want to do the Gatlinburg thing as we were trying to keep the drive a little shorter and deal with less crowds.
Something like this would be ideal, but they are booked up.

I grew up in the area but moved about 4 years ago. I've heard about someone having tree house cabins in Chickamauga, GA(maybe 15 minutes from downtown) but don't have a link or anything like that.

Towns in the immediate area that you might want to search would be Flintstone, Chickamauga, Ringgold, and Trenton in Georgia. Fort Oglethorpe and Rossville are very close by, but neither will probably have any cabin rentals(and you wouldn't want one in Rossville).

To the East, if you want to stay on the water you can check around Harrison Bay. Ooltewah and Collegedale might also be options but I wouldn't want to be any further out than that.

Unless you're locked in on a cabin, I'd think about trying to find a place to rent downtown within walking distance of pretty much anywhere you might want to go.

Try River View Inn - Formerly Sky Harbor Bavarian Inn. It's on the side of Lookout Mountain. A bit rustic, but clean and charming.

There's also Chanticleer Inn at the top of Lookout Mountain.

Also, check out the Little River Canyon area around Fort Payne, AL. The canyon has a very similar feel to the Smoky's.

Little further drive, but go to Boone/Banner Elk and ski Sugar Mountain. Not great skiing, but it's a fun trip. Banner Elk is a really cool town as well.

look into Blue Ridge, GA

Spent Christmas there with the family and it was great. Lots to do in that area and it is a lot quieter than all of your bigger towns/areas.

Relaxing is the best way to describe it.

Pretty much on the border of GA/NC with TN 15 min away as well..

This place looks cool and has an incredible view. I’m staying there in March. Two other cabins on the property.
