Got 7 days vacation with the wife. Under normal circumstances I would go with Hawaii but the small chance of covid + test with risk of having to quarentine and losing a day to travel has me reconsidering maybe south florida instead (thinking Marco island or maybe keys). I do have about 2k in airline credit that I need to burn and I've never been to Hawaii so kind of leaning that way still. Any advice?

I am in Hawaii now. Great time to go as things are open, but not with usual crowds. The most annoying thing was paying $170 for COVID test and keeping fingers crossed that I pass.

Is your insurance not going to cover it? Even if charged up front most places will reimburse you once they file to your insurance company and the claim is paid.

Hawaii, hands down. You can go to Florida any time. No comparison.

If you've got the airfare miles to burn, I agree with Hawaii.

Hawaii is a must for everyone at some point, but losing a day for travel to and from plus potential quarantine means cramming your to do‘s in a condensed stay. If you decide on Hawaii, may be best to stick to one island, we opted for Maui. However, devils advocate: the water in Florida will be pretty chilly in March.

7 days of vacation. Figure I'll lose 2 to travel. That leaves 5 whole days to spend. Yes I would stick to one island in this scenario. Would you recommend big island, oahu or Maui? was thinking big island but seems like easier to get flights into Honolulu and not sure I want to risk additional covid tests with island hopping.

Kauai is amazing. If you do stay here then Marco island is awesome too. Stay at JW Marriott in Marco island. If Kauai stay at Grand Hyatt.

We just got back from a week in Maui. Yeah the testing thing was annoying, but the trip was nothing short of amazing.

We only did Maui so I can’t offer comparison, but we really enjoyed how laid back Maui was. Same length of stay, maybe a day more. Were able to do everything we wanted to without a crowded itinerary.
