Laredo or Eagle Pass

Just googled where these two cities are. Not very close to Dallas or Houston

Ah yeah, sorry didn't even see where you said you had booked. Someone told me that if you get conditionally approved you can put your global entry number in when you book and then just do the interview.

That's what I did. Came through Atlanta customs last year and did my interview there. Took all of about 5 min.

Son's "interview" was this morning. Totally forgot until Google reminded me 25 minutes before the interview. Hauled down to the airport and was 10 minutes late, but they just took us in, took his picture, and done in 10 minutes. Got his full approval email shortly after.

Whole process less than a month. Would have been faster if not for needing a weekend interview slot.

If I get my conditional one....could I show up at the airport WITHOUT being tied to a flight (not flying).

Of course. We just drove to the airport, parked in the garage and walked to the office. It will be before security in every airport I imagine.

When you experience how short the interview process is you're gonna be mad it took so long.

Got my global entry card in the mail today!

Had the interview when we came back from Barcelona a couple weeks ago at ATL airport.

They required me to send in paperwork from the court for an MIP back in 2013 stating that the charges were dismissed.

The thought of getting denied global entry for an MIP

I did the Nexus Pass which includes Global Entry. Applied for it in April and just got it a few weeks ago. So a total of 5-6 months but that was with the government shutdown delay which caused a backup.

Of course now there are not appointments available at all for DFW lol. Even in 2020.

Check their website DAILY...early in the day.
I have an interview for Nov 4 started for Nov 28th I think...
I have moved it up twice to where I am good.

Anyone do Clear? If I flew more than 4-5 times a year I would consider it

Unless TSA Precheck is a complete clusterfrick at your airport I've never seen it work faster or by much when people use it.

Now, what is interesting is CLEAR is at some stadiums and things like that. It would be very useful at a place like that but the list is only a few places right now.

It seems Clear is great if you make 20+ flights a year plus Global Entry, she you 40-50 minutes

I don't know man. TSA Precheck is usually never longer than 10/15 people at my airport. My wait is less than 5 minutes to get my ID checked.

And I've read plenty about the Clear machines not working flawlessly, which slows it down.

Again, it will be airport dependent. If Precheck works fine at your airport I don't see much gain, and most reviews I've read say the same.

You still have to go through security.

Yeah, I feel with new changes more people are going to TSA precheck. I downloaded the app to go through customs quicker recently

I arrived back home yesterday to Houston from 24 days in Australia. First time to use Global Entry and I was through Customs in 5 minutes.

My car service driver was shocked to see me so quick. He figured I would be 45 minutes to an hour.
