Are the wine tasting tours worth the money, or should I make reservations at the select wineries. Will be visiting the above recommended wineries for sure!
We like to go out and wine & dine, and go by bars. Not a crazy late night partier though.
Hoffman Haus looks awesome, will be booking there I believe.
Keep the great tips coming! I really appreciate all the help!

I haven't seen it mentioned so for those that aren't aware, you can walk down main street with an open container of beer or wine or straight liquor, no mixed drinks which is strange.

It depends on what you plan on doing. I have never done a wine bus but a lot of my friends have. I usually just go to 2-3 places in a day. Or instead of a tasting at William Chris, we just hang out and enjoy the view with a bottle we like.
Friends (and my son and DIL) planned on drinking more and therefore went with the party bus/driver so they wouldn't have to worry at all. You can find either ones that have set places they go or ones that let you customize more. They vary in size and price depending on how private and how much you customize. Also, beware. I have friends who did the party bus thing, ended up sharing a bottle on the bus between wineries and ended up to sick to enjoy the rest of the day.
