quote:it isn’t if you know what you’re doing. Park at lower south (the bus lot), take a 10 dollar cab ride up to the top. Exit at the lower gate stage right and it’s all downhill, leave the way you came
Getting out of there was a disaster. There is a designated Uber pickup area that is maybe a 20 minute walk once you leave. Better to arrange transportation ahead of time.

Flew out there to see Brit Floyd in 2016 and back in 2018
Was absolutely amazing. Stayed in the area for 5 days each time to do some sightseeing. One of my favorite trips in the US

I go a few times a year.
If you're staying a few nights, I would stay in Golden. Its a great town about 10 minutes north, and one of the cleanest/safest feeling towns i've ever been in. Good food and drinks, and you can walk all around for hours just enjoying the weather. There's a great hotel downtown Golden that usually has a shuttle to RR avaialable, but its 400/night or more. We typically find local BnB's to rent because we like the extra room.
I think the absolute best sound is somewhere between rows 44 and 35. I've sat all over that place and it always draws me back to that area. Problem is, the locals know it too. Get IN the venue early and mark a seat with an old towel/sheet. People tend to leave them alone.
I always go to the top during set breaks to take in the views for the first few songs of the 2nd set before heading back to my seats.
if you want any more info on Golden, let me know. Just got back from there.
It's my favorite music venue ever, and it is not even close. The sound is incredible and with decent weather and clear skies it's something you just can't quite describe. Highly reccomend it. I've been to around 9 shows the past 5 years there and I'm a thousand miles away.
I've been solo, with family, friends etc.
