I couldn't tell you the last time I checked a bag. I went to China for a week and didnt' check a bag.

As you said, you do you, but if you're just making domestic flights and you don't pack like a woman, and you know how the internet works and you check in on your phone and get your boarding pass that way, you can show up at security pretty much when boarding starts and you'll be more than just fine.
