Fall Colorado trip suggestions

I've done nearly all of them, but none of them with our young kids.
Trying to go late September. 3yr old and 1yr old. Direct flight to Denver, rental, and go somewhere. Probably 4 or 5 nights. Prefer not change home base just so we don't have to spend half a day packing and unpacking again, but I could be convinced to split the trip between 2 locations.
My initial reaction is Breck. Stay in town and we can walk to meals. Get in the car 2 days and go down to BV one day then over to Vail or something for a day.
Is Breck my best bet with kids this young?
Thanks for the help.

I always recommend time in Breck. But, do a day trip to Vail, also. Use Breck as a base. Consider a ride over to Leadville (get a train ride for the 3 year old to enjoy), and maybe BV. Breck can't be beat for ease, fun, food and comfort.

I'd do Glenwood Springs. Roaring Fork Valley might be the best spot in the state. Depending on when you go Aspen might have the gondola still rolling to the sun deck, Roaring Fork River will be low enough for the kids to splash in, amusement park in Glenwood is great, Flat Tops are great by car and can hop out to fish lakes, Independence Pass, Maroon Bells, rent an atv in Marble then go to Crystal Mill ..... I could go on and on. Between Aspen, El Jebel, Carbondale, and Glenwood there is enough little towns to eat and grab ice cream.

Really can't go wrong whichever resort town you decide to stay in. Breck, Keystone, Frisco, etc is less travel from Denver, so that's probably your best bet. Or Estes Park.
