Yeah worst case scenario you go standby for free on the super earlier flight if you're really worried about it. For now I think you're safe with a long layover

Same boat. My flight on Sunday is OKC-DFW and then catching the British Airways flight to London. I'm supposed to have only a 1 hour layover if everything is on time and so far this week every AA flight from OKC-DFW has been 1.5 to 2 hours delayed...

Yeah we intentionally picked an almost 4 hour layover if I recall.

I would’ve picked a longer layover if I had the option. But I think AA only has 2 flights a day to DFW and I’m on the earliest one.

Trying to help out here. I looked up the time of the DFW-LHR flight and then browsed OKC-DFW flight times to find a few options for sunday.

You've got:
AA2439 12:37 - 1:50
AA2434 2:40 - 3:50
AA2017 4:41 - 5:53

Not sure which one you're on, but when you get to OKC you can ask if they can get you one of the the earlier flights. If they say no, ask to go standby. Your bags are likely to be tagged on the original flight but may switch to the earlier one if you get on.

Dang I never even saw that earlier flight at 12:37. I’m scheduled to be on the 2:40 flight but the earlier one would be a hell of a lot better. Thanks for the help.

Always putting in work, Cuse! You're a good man.

I love to suffer. Plenty of flights left this year to get canceled! Starting with this weekend. DFW to RNO.

Fingers crossed for no issues this trip. I'm on a 2 trip streak of getting one or both flights canceled/major delays.

Our flight from MSY-ORD actually got in early and we made our connection with time to spare. Had to gate check our bags which made me nervous, but saw them get loaded onto the plane. Unfortunately have to go to baggage claim then back through security for our flight to Bologna tomorrow so that blows.

AA has slowly worked their way back to my second favorite airline behind Delta after a few bad trips.
