How old is th MIL & FIL? What is their health like? I know they want to enjoy their grandkids at Disney but these kids are to young to enjoy. Maybe wait a few year and stash some cash for this to be able to stay on-site and enjoy with small children.

I'm sorry man, this sounds like a miserable trip, you are about to dump money on.

Me and my 2 brothers can roll, anytime anywhere and make it fun. add any of the components you have listed the trip goes to shite quick.

Good Luck.

Worn out excuse? So people who took their very young kids to Disney and didn’t have a great time or found it tougher than they imagined and are offering advice to others in same boat are lazy or making excuses? We’ve traveled all over the US with our young kids and had a blast at almost every place. Mostly because we had our own pace and didn’t have to be anywhere. Disney is a different animal due to the logistics (specific dinner reservations, park passes, long lines, etc) of the trip

I think the point is that first off, not everyone giving that advice has even taken young kids before. They just regurgitate what they heard or read somewhere else. Second, almost every time I hear someone say to not bring a small child based on their experience there were flaws in their strategy or tools they didnt know about. Things like using child swap, things like not staying on-site and because they didnt, not planning a mid day break, things like not bringing or renting a nice jogging stroller where the kid can nap, things like making too many table service reservations, things like waking everyone up at 7 am for a character breakfast with shitty food only to have the lines build in the park while they're sitting down at breakfast rather than lunch or dinner, etc.

It isn't right for everyone and there's no denying it. It isn't the easiest vacation, no denying that either. BUT, the issue doesnt lie in the kids age it lies in the lack of planning or use of a travel agent from the parents. Just because other vacations are easier with small kids doesnt mean they're better. Renting a beach house on 30A for a week is easy but sounds like a miserable time to me with a two year old.

We’ve gone with kids from 2 an 5 to 18. STAY ON PROPERTY! We NEVER go back to the room and go from morning to close. Recommend Wilderness Lodge and French Quarter. Forgot the name, but the other Louisiana (big white plantation) themed is a little too spread out from the bus stops. STAY IN THE RESORT AS CLOSE TO THE BUS STOP AS POSSIBLE.
