We are going tbe week after Halloween so I called Disney to find out when Christmas was going up

They said they take down Halloween all morning of Nov 1 and start on magic kingdom to get ready for mickeys Christmas party on 11/9. She said the park will be decorated more and more each day beginning Nov 2.

Pretty sure they start decorating for Christmas the first week of November. We've been several times Thanksgiving week and it's full on Christmas.

I'd think the few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas would be a fairly good time to go.

Well we are booked!! Dec.11-15 thanks again everyone!

I am going to be there December 9-16. You chose wisely, because this is the week after the Pop Warner Super Bowl (last day is December 9). Might be the least busy week in all of Disney.

Make sure you get tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is a separately ticketed event. Try for that Tuesday, as that is always the least busy Christmas Party since locals are less likely to take their kids on a school night. It is worth doing this and going to Magic Kingdom on a separate day, because they have 2 different fireworks shows.

We are also doing the Candlelight Processional, but you might be too late to get a dining plan for a guaranteed seat (you do not technically need a dining package, but you would need to wait in ridiculous lines without one). It sounds like it may be boring for a 3 year old, but I promise your kid will appreciate breaks like that.

Summer has become one of the slowest times actually.

This was not my experience the week after Memorial Day, but they also happened to open Pandora the weekend before we went. We would not have booked that week if we had known.

That was the busiest week of the whole summer and probably beat out the fall and spring too this year.

We had a great time, but I've never seen crowds that large before. I will attempt to never return right after a new expansion.

If we hadn't booked through my wife's parents' DVC membership almost a year in advance then there is no way we would have gone that week.

ETA: Still managed to see all of Pandora and ride Flights of Passage twice. That ride was totally worth it.

Did you rent or are you an owner?

My wife's parents are DVC members. We went with her whole family. Booked on a "bounce back" rate for our December trip while we were still there.
