Destination Race Cancelled- need advice

Flying into Charleston on Friday Feb 14. And back out on Monday the 17th. The main objective of this weekend was to run the Hilton Head island marathon but I just received email yesterday that the race has been cancelled. I still have my flights and my sitter lined out so me n Mrs jkyle would still like to go and just enjoy the area. Although I’m flying in and out of Charleston I just spent a long weekend there in September so I was curious if I should go spend the weekend in savannnah perhaps? Or maybe still visit Hilton head. I have never been to either place so was looking for some suggestions on things to do or restaurants to try. Thanks in advance and God bless the travel board.

When you need a public restroom, use the Marriott downtown on the river. Really cool lobby.

Watch out for the populace of Fort Stewart on the weekends!
It's still going to be kinda cold and shitty, but at least you can party in Savannah.
You could also change your flight where it might be warmer (FL?)

Thanks. I don’t get the ft Stewart reference though.

It's on top of Savannah, full of tens out thousands of young enlisted dudes including the 1st Ranger Battalion that like to ... drink a bit.

We were in Charleston, Savannah & HH last Oct with friends that had not been to any of those. We drove to Savannah from Charleston for 1 night and went by HH on the way.
IMO, there is no wrong answer but if you have been to Charleston I would check out Savannah & HH.

Lonely Planet had a nice comparison of Savanna & Charleston last summer... LINK
One of the most interesting places to learn about coastal plantation history is a bit north of Charlestown, Hobcaw Barony ... LINK
The SC and GA barrier islands were once the playground and winter residence for the very wealthy of NYC. Hobcaw is a well-preserved relic of that era.
