I’m going to be goi g to the CWS this summer with a brother and my dad. What are some decent places to stay where I won’t be shot and won’t break the bank? I haven’t been to Omaha in 22 years so I’m very unfamiliar with the area.

TIA

I stayed in that Hampton Inn a few times for work right across the street from TDA when it was being built (so it's been awhile) but that area was fine.

There were a lot of other hotels right around that general area as well. I seem to remember North Omaha being pretty ghetto but most of the rest of the city is fine.

That’s good info, thanks. I need as much info about Omaha as possible to know what areas to avoid.

There's a pretty cool area downtown called The Old Market district. The streets are brick paved and there are some pretty cool bars and restaurants around there. You can walk to it if you stay somewhere around downtown.

All hotels in Omaha break the bank during the CWS. Even 20 miles away is still $250/night.

North AND south Omaha are ghetto. Do not under any circumstances stay north of Cuming St. Ideally You want to either stay downtown/old market or find an AirBnB in Dundee. If none of that works, looks at hotels past 108th street on Dodge or down in the Ralston LaVista areas.

Thank you! What about Council Bluffs? Is that good?

Council Bluffs was fine. They have a few casinos there if that's your thing. Right across the river from downtown Omaha.

CB is fine if you stay at the casinos. Ameristar used to have a really good buffet. Not sure if it still does

Man I found an awesome speakeasy when I was there for work in 2017. Name is The Wicked Rabbit. You go into a small cigar shop called The Looking Glass and tell the person working you’re there for the Wicked Rabbit. Might have to wait a bit but when he gets the word he pushes one of the walls in and you follow him in. The drinks aren’t cheap but are amazing and will put you on your arse. Make it your last stop for the evening but allow plenty of time in case there’s a line to get in.

Writeup about The Wicked Rabbit

ETA: Forgot that The Looking Glass is actually a Cigar/Liquor Shop

ETA II: Also meant to say that it is downtown and walking distance from the Old Market mentioned earlier and not far from TD Ameritrade.

The Old Market district.

This. Walking distance to and from the stadium, plenty of restaurants and lots of stuff going on. You’ll run into some of the players and coaches at the restaurants and shops.
