Our 10 year old daughter has a cheer competition in Daytona Beach April 7-8, 2018. Wife and I are looking for suggestions to turn it into a week long vacation.

Is Daytona worth staying a week in?

We thought about staying in the Destin area for 5 nights then heading to Daytona.

Disney is an option but we are concerned about our 3 year old and long days at Disney. Any advice on this?

Just looking for suggestions and we are open to anything.

I personally wouldn't stay at Daytona for a week, but it depends on what you enjoy. While I don't think Daytona is as junky as it was at its peak, it's not our scene at all.

But there are a lot of options nearby that may be easier than Destin. Clearwater, St. Augustine, Cocoa Beach area, etc.

No clue what your budget is, but I'd stay north of Daytona in Palm Coast area.

I'd look at the New Smyrna Beach or St Augustine area as opposed to Daytona Beach.

If you are looking to do some fishing, I can provide some names/recs

Thanks for the suggestions. Budget is not a big concern. We enjoy the beach, anything outdoors, and good restaurants. I'll take a look at St Aug area, since it has been suggested most.

Anyone have thoughts on Disney with a 3 year old.

Easter is April 1, 2018. So just keep in mind anywhere is going to be extra busy. Destin and Disney will be slammed.
