Trip is booked, flying into Montrose 5/28/23 and flying out 6/3/23.

Renting a Chevy Tahoe and will be in Ouray at the Matterhorn Inn 5/28 and 5/29. Looking at doing Box Canyon Waterfall and then a tour through Yankee Boy Basin the next day. Hitting the breweries in town along the way.

Then driving to Telluride 5/30 and staying at Camels Garden Hotel until 6/3/23. Doing another jeep tour and then a white water rafting tour.

Open to suggestions in each town on things to do, places to eat, breweries to drink at.

Thanks to everyone who commented, y'all greatly helped me with the framework to this trip. One of the things i love about this website.

the best restaurant in telluride is la marmotte. Brown dog for pizza. The national is also very good for dinner. There should be live music around town esp on weekend nights. Hike to bridal veil falls. Ride the gondola up to mountain village. Plenty of shopping on the main drag. Stronghouse brew pub for beer.

Have fun telluride is great

Ouray: Thai Chili is great, so is Goldbelt Bar and grill, sit outside. Sit on the roof at the Ouray Brewery, food is good there too...stay away from Timberline Deli, dude is rude, woke and a cop hater..Maggie's is great for a casual burger.

Out of Ouray we used Alpine scenic tours, they are THE BEST, they have individual bucket seats with seatbelts, not bench seats like competitors where you are bumping you neighbor. You will thank me. Look them up on Tripadvisor.

The museum in Ouray is pretty great, but since only there 2 day, may not be in the cards. Gotta go see cascade falls up 8th avenue, takes an hour... easy hike.

Your Tahoe will handle Last Dollar Road from Ridgway to Telluride..TAKE THIS ROAD!!

Only spent a day in Telluride, but of course take the Gondola to the top and go see bridal Veils falls. Mountainbiking down the mountain looks interesting, you can rent bikes there and they take you up on ski lifts and come down on trails...Lots of rich kids...

have fun

trust me i know. I showed it to him on google earth and i'm like look, there's literally nothing to see, adn there's ntohign around it.

But he still wants to stand in 4 states, so i did some research and we'll just drive through and we'll go see Natural Bridge Park in southeast Utah. Going to stay nearby there and it's supposed to be one of the best places on earth for stargazing (b/c there ain't shite for miles and miles out there)

National parks preserve some of the darkest skies in the country. In some areas, it’s possible to see up to 15,000 stars throughout the night. By contrast, fewer than 500 stars may be visible from more urban environments.
Natural Bridges has made protecting its dark sky a priority so that people can enjoy the stunning river of light formed by the Milky Way rising over Owachomo Bridge. On March 6th, 2007, Natural Bridges National Monument became the first International Dark Sky Park certified by the International Dark-Sky Association.

Thanks. I drove it once, 18 years ago, in a car that i had been in for 24 straight hours, and it was terrifying then. I think we'll be better off just staying another day in Ouray or BV, or spending a day renting the 4x4 and driving over to Telluride from Ouray.

I know i hijacked OP a little bit, so sorry about that, but appreciate all the responses.
