Seconded on the 'cheq, that was one of our spots before I moved out. I still go when I'm back in town and Miller's (block north) is not open.

Exchequer pizza is great.

Yeah that's what we did, the station downtown was under a mile so we just walked to the hotel.

I did pre-schedule an Uber to take us back to the airport on Sunday because our flight was at 745 and didn't wanna hassle with it at 5am. Prescheduling it made it only $28, so only paid $18 extra over training it which was well worth it.

Good thing I prescheduled though, I scoped out what an Uber would be that morning at it was like $80 lol.

We are headed to Chicago the weekend before Christmas and staying on the Lakeshore near Navy Pier. What Holiday-type events can you suggest?

Christkindl Market, ice skating ribbon in maggie daley park is great, zoolights at lincoln park zoo. A lot of good holiday pop up bars as well.

Christkindlmarket is/was a favorite of mine during the work lunch hour. Nice change of pace and a lot of good food + vendors.

Agree with the above suggestions + would add seeing the Christmas tree in Millennium Park.

For sure. If I were to make a recommendation, go to a "pop-up" at a real bar and not something like Frosty's, which opens in a random building in LP once each year and serves up bad, overpriced drinks. If nothing else, though, there are plenty of Christmas decorations.

Thanks for the info. There's a "Sippin Santa" popup at Cortland's Garage that we'll probably visit.

Just make sure you go to the Cortland's Garage in Chicago, not Arlington Heights. Easy mistake if you're calling Lyft/Uber.

Anyway, cool sports bar and next door to Mable's Table, which is an excellent restaurant. Lottie's is on Cortland, too - inside is decked with Christmas lights and they should have Camp Lottie's open outside, though I imagine tents will all be reserved.

We went to Chicago a few years ago in December. The Theater district had some good Christmas type live shows. We saw Charles Dickens "a Christmas Carol". It was excellent. We scored half-price tickets for a good value.
