Anyone have some ideas for things to do on a quick trip to Chicago in February. I have a wedding I will be attending and plan to make a long weekend out of it. Will be with the wife (no pics), if that makes a difference.

Go to a Blackhawks game. Eat at Billy Goat Tavern on Madison beforehand

Worst month of the year in Chicago but hit some great restaurants. Blackhawks game is a good recommendation. Lots of great bars too.

Yeah, we've been in the Middle of Feb one time....highs in the 20s, lows in the teens....

Honestly, if wearing the correct clothes... I think its quite enjoyable to make those walks and then duck in somewhere for a nice whiskey to warm you up.

Enjoy

That's a nice february. I was there for years, we are very excited with weather like that. Reality is more like lows around zero and highs around ten.

This is also correct. Dress well and it isn't that bad. There are fun bars all over the place. Maybe have breakfast in Chinatown or up in Andersonville on Sunday.

Most of us just go to restaurants, breweries, bars, and cocktail bars during the winter months If you're willing to move around on the CTA or rideshare, happy to drop a number of suggestions.

ETA: Because I'm avoiding work, I'll toss out spots (probably hold on any of the two- and three-star Michelin restaurants since your time is probably limited w/ the wedding) in some neighborhoods and can always add more neighborhoods and suggestions:

- Logan Square: The Meadowlark, Billy Sunday, Longman & Eagle, Lula Cafe, Mi Tocaya Antojeria, Maplewood, Solemn Oath, Union

- West Loop: The Aviary / The Library, Lazy Bird, Guinness (just opened), After, The Loyalist, Rose Mary, Roister, Monteverde, El Che, Girl & The Goat

- River North: Tzuco, Bavette's, Gilt Bar, The Bamboo Room, Bar Sotano, Centennial

- Ravenswood / North Center / Lincoln Square: Gather, The Warbler, Cultivate by Forbidden Root, Spacca Napoli, Hop Butcher, Dovetail, Begyle, The Victor

- Avondale: Warlord, Parachute, Smoque Steak, Thattu, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Sleeping Village, Mother's Ruin

- Andersonville: Little Bad Wolf, Calo, Vincent, Lady Gregory's, Hopleaf, Marty's, Half Acre (technically not Andersonville but it's close)

ETAx2: Chicago winter definitely varies. As someone else said, February tends to be a pretty damn miserable month, but I've seen December and January all over the place. For example, it's supposed to be in the mid-50s on Thursday and Friday. In general, dress well and you'll be fine. Most everyone living here is well-prepared for an arctic blast, so even those exceptionally difficult days of zero degrees doesn't feel as bad as you'd expect.
