From now through February flights from MSY to Madrid are $291 roundtrip on American. Just booked a pair for November. Spain only requires proof of vaccination to enter for now.

Just a heads up.

Amex transferring to Iberia Avios at 1000 MR to 1400 Avios.

170K Avios to Madrid round trip in business class. So two business class tickets RT to Madrid for 121000 MR points. I have 70000 Avios in my Iberia account already so my cost would be 71500 MR points for the two business class tickets out of my Amex MR bucket.

Not bad at all.

ETA: That's direct from Miami for me as I live in Naples.

Have a flight to Spain booked. What other countries only require vax and not a test or quarantine?

Europe Covid Restrictions

This is what I have been using to check.

So back in late March of this year I booked a flight to Madrid on American right before they got rid of the waived change fees for economy. Now I see that flights all over Europe are significantly cheaper. Can I just cancel my original flight and rebook on a cheaper one and have extra American flight credits to use?

Also American changed my flight up since I booked and now I have to leave earlier in the morning and have a longer layover. So that's further motivation for me to change.

If that’s American policy yes. I changed four flights on United this week with no repercussions.

I called Delta the other day for a recently booked ticket and they said they’d allow it to be changed without penalty since requirements had changed. I don’t know what others are doing. I also asked about changing a domestic flight in a few weeks due to the storm, and said they’d be happy to change that too.

I got a refund on Delta without any issue on a flight booked months ago.

I was just able to successfully change flights to a cheaper one. Now I have a main cabin economy ticket instead of basic economy and have some extra flight credits for free.
