I've had a Chase Sapphire Reserve Card for years and have never had any issues. I booked probably 40-50 flights without an issue.

Now Chase has contracted with Experia to handle travel reservations. It's like calling Wal-Mart. The website is notorious for quoting one price and then raising it when you go to check out. I tried to book a flight for 4 and they told me they could only sell 2 because that's all Experia was allotted. There were plenty of empty seats and these were regular prices. It's not like I was buying a discount fare.

This travel agency has made the Sapphire Reserve not worth having. I imagine that buying a 4 year old Hyundai would be a similar experience to dealing with that pathetic travel agent.

I will be dropping the card before my next annual fee hits for this exact reason. Turrible.

I always transfer points to airline partners with Chase and Amex points. It's just a better experience and I feel like it carries a little more weight with the airline in case of issues.

Doing the data mining from tigerdroppings, it is obvious Chase may be the worst possible card company now.

They've just basically stayed still while they lost partners or had them devalue. Probably the victim of their own success with how many points they put out into the market.

Just cashed in all my chase points thanks to the good sign on bonus for upcoming trip to Cancun.

Will probably cancel it as well, not really for the reasons y’all have mentioned but I don’t really use the card much and hate paying the fee. I’ve done the hit and run with the card

I had crap service from the travel portal too. I haven’t cancelled yet, mainly because I get decent value from other aspects of the card (travel insurance, Lyft credits, etc). But I transfer points out to other partners rather than book thru Chase.

I only use Chase for Hyatt points these days.

We've been on the rocks since they lost Korean Air as a partner.

Ya I'm basically all Hyatt as well.

Amex is getting my spend for airline transfers.

I'm loaded with miles right now from 2020 cancelations. Kid 2 on the way.

2023/24 bookings are gonna be some opulent shite if we can swing it.

Got some house renovation going on so i signed up for two Amex Gold and two CSP in past few weeks.

I never thought i'd be below 5/24 again but then covid hit and travel ground to a halt. That easy 170k UR is a slight blessing related to covid

Agreed, frustrating to have travel credits through them instead of directly with airline from COVID cancellations. I have 2 with AA and 2 AA with Chase. Can't combine them, so it has to be 4 separate flights on credits that expire before the pandemic is really over. Very frustrating. Will probably cancel and reapply for the Preferred now that I'm hitting 4 years and their SUB is at 80K assuming it lasts til summer.

Definitely agree. Way easier to deal with the airlines directly. All my points typically go to United/SW from Chase. It's also instant transfer so it's easy to transfer exactly what you need and quickly book.

The AA credits with Chase must be booked over the phone. That is a painful process.
