Going to be there 2 nights, one full day, while killing time traveling to our vacation destination
Anyone have rec's on where to stay, what to do and where to stay i.e. we will have a small dog with us, no kids

Stay at The Vendue, a very nice hotel right in the middle of town with a great rooftop bar and many excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Beautiful area to walk the dog.

Assuming ya'll have never been to Charleston before, I'd stay downtown and spend your full day exploring the historic district. Specifically King St., Queen St., Meeting St., East Bay St. Also, walk around the residential areas South of Broad. Beautiful homes to see there as you walk towards the Battery.

That will keep you busy for an entire day.

Don't bother eating at any of the overpriced tourist restaurants (:cough: Hyman's, Bubba Gump :cough:). My personal favorite lunch spot is Brown Dog Deli off of Broad.
