I have never been. My female friend would like to go with me for a few days. Any hotel recommendations? Things to do or see while there?

Its been a few years but we stayed at Grand Solmar Land's End resort and had a great time. It is pretty isolated, and there are restaurants on site, or you can catch a cab into town.

It is on the ocean side of Cabo, and you cannot swim there.

Another major area is around the marina, there's a small swimmable beach near there, and a lot closer to nightlife.

It’s gorgeous but you can’t get in the water. The surf is way too rough. If you want to swim and want a desert resort, look at Aruba or Curacao.

Cabo is great though. Clean. Lots to do. Beautiful beautiful resorts.

We did an off roading excursion that was great. Got super dirty. Rode for about 2-3 hrs then they fed us a delicious lunch. Can’t remember the name of the outfit but they did camel rides from there, too.

But the sport fishing is fantastic.

I only went once - in 2009 - but I couldn't disagree more. I thought it was a complete shithole. I walked once or twice from our resort to the downtown area, and it did not feel safe (nor was it nice.)

On the beach, CONSTANTLY harassed by hustlers trying to sell you hard drugs and (underage) hookers.

It was September, and I found it Louisiana-like in its humidity profile.

And that's against all of the general "Mexico sucks" backdrop. Why would anyone want to go to a place where this type of shite happens?

Literally, if you had been driving to/from the airport to Cabo on that date, you would have seen dead bodies swinging from an overpass bridge. No thanks.

Perhaps it's changed a lot, but I just don't get the appeal. I view it as 3rd world. It's certainly markedly less nice than several places I have been in Africa or South America.

Been two time once to Sandos Finisterra and the 2nd time was to Le Blanc Spa Resort. If I ever go back it will be to Le Blanc. As some have said you can't swim at most of the beaches. But if you want to try off shore/deep sea fishing it is amazing. We used Fish On for the fishing trip. Also we went out with Cabo Sail for a day trip to the arches and some snorkeling.

I will say Tacos Gus is a must, those were some of the best tacos I've had in Mexico.

If you can swing it with your budge Grand Vellas as an amazing property out there.

Stayed at The Cape Thompson which is a sleek property but not all inclusive. The restaurant Manta there is great though. Chef of Pujol in CDMX.

Had a dinner at the Waldorf. That place is nuts.

We stayed at the Hilton Los Cabos, which is a little outside of Cabo San Lucas, and it was amazing. The town of San Jose del Cabo is close by and great for eating. We took the kids and they loved it and have been begging to go back.

We went last year . Stayed at a Pueblo Bonito resort . They’re all inclusive and have several in Cabo . Nice resorts and they provide transportation between the resorts so you can eat/drink at all there resorts . Cabo has really good fishing also but I don’t care for the beaches and you can’t swim in the water . Food and nightlife is good in the city also

We been twice and enjoyed both trips.

Sept 2020 stayed at Westin Los Cabos Resort and beach is not swimmable. Facility was nice with a great infinity pool. We ate at several local restaurants - lunch at Jazmins Mexican, and Mariscadas Seafood and a dinner at Toro Guero Seafood. The food highlight of the trip was Flora Farms, the pork chop is the best I've ever had & the atmosphere (open air) is great.

The second time we went we wanted a swimmable beach so we stayed close to the Cabo Marina so the beach is protected waters. In Dec 2022, we stayed at Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa Cabo San Lucas. Enjoyed the pool when not using the beach and their service is outstanding. Hit Flora Farms again for the pork chop! Also ate at Pitahayas & El Pescador.

We Ubered to all our destinations and the fare were very cheap. We enjoyed visiting Cabo and San Jose del Cabo. Some nice Art Gallery's and shopping in San Jose del Cabo. The local food at some of the restaurants mentioned above was outstanding also.

The fishing is great so did a deep-sea fishing trip. We also did a 52-foot sailboat with snorkeling and lunch with alcohol included. We enjoyed both trips and hope to return in the future. Good luck!

Just got back a couple weeks ago from Waldorf Pedregal. One of my favorite resorts to ever experience. Pretty slick but not great for a budget.

My advice would be to not do AI, there are so many amazing hotels there and the restaurant seen in town is first class

Grand Solmar at Lands Ens is also where we stay as some others have mentioned on here, it is away from the main beaches and you don’t get peddlers walking around and try to hustle you for bracelets and sunglasses

Can confirm that this resort is a solid choice. Was there in December
