First, let me say you're overthinking the attire for a bar/lounge. What you've described is perfectly fine. I've worn more casual clothing and not felt bad about it at all.

Second, I do need to address the amount of great options in Fenway in the Definitive Boston thread, but for now I'll outline the Fenway options in this thread. I'll take care of that for you tomorrow because I'm feeling lazy tonight. There are a lot of good options, I just want to stress that Yard House is about the last place I'd send someone.

The Baseball Tavern.

I have tragic news regarding that venue. At the end of 2019 they sold the property to a company that I assume will be building high rise apartments there, so it no longer exists.

The last LSU game they hosted was the playoff game against Oklahoma, so we at least sent the place out in style.

RIP, Baseball Tavern.

Was actually at that game in atl. Was a blast even though atl is a shithole.

I had such a fun time at baseball tavern. Got there so early I was the only guy at the bar until Jarvis green propped up a seat next to me and we shot the bull for an hour or so. Top that with buying a fellow TD poster/Boston extraordinaire a beer + the big LSU win. Hell of a trip !!

Definitely want a warm lobster roll for sure at some point.

We're flying in on Saturday and land about 1 and since our room likely won't be ready so we're thinking of just dropping the bags at the hotel, grabbing a quick lunch then some drinks at The Bleacher Bar while we wait for the room.

Swinging by the Bleacher Bar for a beer is a good idea while you're waiting to check in. The food won't be anything special but it's cool to be able to see into Fenway while you have a beer.

For a lobster roll, I'd recommend either Saltie Girl (Back Bay) or Neptune Oyster Bar (North End). Those are the two best I've had in the city.

For places in Fenway to eat/drink:

Tatte has great coffee and breakfast options.

I'm not sure what they're doing with COVID, but Time Out Market has a lot of great stuff from restaurants all over the city. Would be a great chance to sample a bunch of different things.

Highly recommend Tiger Mama if you're into asian fusion, it's outstanding.

If it's late night and you're tipsy and starving, grab a burger from Tasty Burger.

I wouldn't limit yourself to just eating and drinking in Fenway, though.

That’s tragic news. What a great venue for LSU games.

There is not a ton of places around Fenway
I've stayed there quite a bit, a couple blocks away is the hosiptal area that I've had to stay at quite a few times
Not far from hospitals is Coolidge Corner that has some neat little places to shop and dine
It's cheaper to stay around that area hotel wise and it is pretty easy to get around Boston from there as you can take uber or the T to get to Prudential area and then further into Boston where a lot of the things on Abita's list are.

You are pretty close to the Cambridge/Harvard area though the closer to Fenway you are, just across the Charles River

I forgot to mention, another great "speakeasy" option is Drink. Fantastic cocktails.

Oh no...definitely not, I agree.

I setup a google map with places I "target" and layer it by type. I've got it setup for bars, lounges, dining, sights and shopping and I usually kind of look at it by area and day first. I know the first afternoon of the first day is Fenway so trying to lock that area down.

Makes sense.

There’s a Trillium location in Fenway as well, but it’s small and I’m not sure if they are open during COVID. Assuming you like craft beer.

Harpoon is definitely worth the visit. As good as their beer is, their pretzels are even better. Best pretzel I've ever had.

So, I read the great news of Boston returning to Step 1 of phase 3 and museums being able to open as of 2/1. I see the aquarium is set to open this weekend...what other museums would be your suggestion Abita?

Definitely the MFA.

The Boston Public Library (not a museum but similar) is definitely worth a visit.

The Isabelle Stewart Gardner museum for sure.

Museum of Science is pretty cool too

Edit: almost forgot to mention the JFK library

I have no idea if it is open currently, but Abitafan pointed me to Five Horses. It is a legit great beer bar with pretty great food also.

Another question, we have dinner reservations At Bostonia Public house for 6:30 PM on Sunday. Before that we were thinking about hitting up the aquarium the last half of the day before it closes. We need to buy tickets or advance but I don’t know how much time it should take us. Any suggestions?
