Anyone ever been to Bolinas, CA - the infamous town "locals don't want you to know about"?
I'm looking at a trip to SF and would like to carve out a couple of days to spend in Bolinas. Any recommendations would be helpful.

Its a cool little town there are some nice hikes down to the beach with tidal pools. If you keep going north Point Rayes has some really nice spots and the Point Reyes lighthouse is a nice place to visit. Point Reyes Station has cool town with Cow Girl Creamery and some other interesting spots.
Check out Stinson beach too it is a nice little town with some good restaurants (Parkside), B&B's, and nice rentals. Make sure you fill up in Mill Valley because gas stations are few and far between. That sliver of land from Stinson to Point Reyes is beautiful.

Muir Woods is only a few miles away...pretty awesome park.
IMO...California may be the greatest chunk of land on Earth. Its just so amazing and diverse.

I never have but my friends that live in sausalito have been. They said its nice but boring. They prefer going a little further north to Gurnville. Its bigger and more well known but there is a lot more to do there.

Live in SF and spent a weekend there a few weeks ago. Great spot, but I imagine you'd be bored spending any more than 2 nights there.
As mentioned, Stinson, Muir beach/woods, and Point Reyes are all great and close. Maybe make Bolinas home base and do a day trip or two.

I was in Stinson Beach last week (right next to Bolinas), and we absolutely loved it. The gf and I rented an airbnb for a couple of nights after visiting friends in SF. As others have mentioned, hiking in the area is very abundant. We drove an hour north to Tomales Point trail head and went on that hike and I can't recommend it enough. We then drove to the other side of Tomales Bay and had lunch at the Marshall Store which were, hands down, the best oysters I've ever had.
If you're in to hiking and don't already know of the app All Trails, download it. It's like Yelp for hiking complete with maps and you can see your location along the trail.
As others have said, it's gorgeous out there. The weather was perfect when I was just there. Foggy in the mornings and it burns off in the afternoon.
