He took the Loop, that made the drive back easy.

Do they have everything they need within the gates?

Pretty much. They have about 9 restaurants in the village. Some are connected to the clubhouse and others are stand alone. Definitely plenty of options to get a drink or a solid (not great) meal. Crazy enough there is a tex-mex restaurant in one of the clubhouses that's as good as anything around Baton Rouge. Most of the places are your standard burgers and such, though one clubhouse has fancier entrees.

Depending on what side you live on will depend on you proximity to the things like grocery stores. I usually go to Brookshires, which is about a 20 minute drive from my parents' home.

There's two gas stations in the village and a liquor store as well.

I know it isn't necessarily a "retirement community", but I'm guessing it is majority seniors living there?

I know the median age is shifting, but I think it's currently around 70 years old for the average resident. Young couples with families are starting to really move in and in 10 years I expect there to be a major shift in the age of residents.

How is the traffic?

Non existent

Is it safe to ride a bicycle on the roads?

I wouldn't on the main highway that runs through the village but there are tons of trails and pathways inside the village to bike ride. Also you could bike through the neighborhoods.

I'm not a golfer either, but the Village has so much to do inside it if you're younger and able. My wife and I stayed for a few weeks last summer and had some friends join us. They described it as almost summer camp for adults with all the outdoor activities offered.

Man, I really appreciate you taking the time to answer all of that. Was checking out realtor last night and saw that the airbnb I've been wanting to stay at is now for sale!

There's lots of great properties in the village, especially at that price range.

My parents rented an Airbnb for a few days to check the Village out and after a short stay they bought a home. It was great decision on their part.

I'm 40, and even though the majority of folks living there are retirees, I found it fits my lifestyle perfectly. And it's only 20 minutes from Hot Springs so you can always go into the city and do fun stuff. Kind of the best of both worlds.
