I'm looking to plan a bachelor party next winter in SLT. There will be about 12 of us so we will likely be renting something from ABNB or VRBO. Can anyone recommend a particular area that I look? We would like it to be close to a resort and close to the bar scene, if possible.

Also, the majority of the group are inexperienced skiers, if that helps with your recommendation.

Thanks in advance

You wanna be near the state line that's where the casinos/night life are. From there you Can walk to heavenly. You gotta go to Carson city (30 min) for strippers unless you bring them to your place.

I'm also going on a Lake Tahoe bachelor party trip this summer, and have never been. We're staying on the North State Line. How does the north side and south side of the lake differ?

Been to Vegas, Colorado, South Lake Tahoe, NOLA, NYC, LA and more on bachelor trips... honestly I'd stay far far away from Tahoe for one of these trips. Go to Colorado if you need to ski.

Just got back on Monday from a bachelor party there. Had a blast. We stayed at the hard rock hotel and casino. Great casino host named Anna that took good care of us. Ate at park prime there. Walked over to the gondola area for some other food and bars and did some shopping. About a 10 minute walk to the beach area on the lake. Looked like a lot of abnb/vrbo places along that walk. Had a table reserved at peek nightclub in harrahs but ended up not going.

Took a beginner ski lesson and a day on the slopes at heavenly. Great instructors. The lesson, lift ticket, and gear rental was $180 for the day. Some of the guys went snowmobiling the next day.

If y'all like to gamble, the casinos were decent. Good dealers on the craps table for me. Sports books were ok. (Still not sure how I won the 153.5 under for the Oregon/UNC game) Harvey's has a 12 table poker room with daily tournaments and 4/8 limit and 2/3 and 3/5 no limit games. Very well run poker room.

If you're looking for "entertainment," there are no strip clubs there but google Tahoe's Exclusive.

I'll probably think of some more stuff and may post some pictures if I find a few minutes to do that.

I've only been to the north lake for a couple hours so I don't know a whole lot about it but Ive heard it's a Lot less populated and more remote. Definitely no casinos/nightlife. Prob better for outdoor stuff though.

Only the south side, near Heavenly, has the casinos, night life. The rest of the perimeter of the lake is mainly lodges and cabins. Nice scenery all around. South Tahoe isn't all that big anyway, compared to Reno. Maybe a mile long or so.

IMO all the action is on the south side of the lake. As previous posters have said the area around Stateline has the casinos, more nightlife, and some better Restaurants.
For a bachelor party I would do kennedy's steak house.
Now if your gonna make that journey into Sparks I highly recommend calling a service and getting a van/driver. That's a crazy world there and you can find yourself in some sort of Lamar Odem type stuff. One of those places has a wooden bridge that is only wide enough for one vehicle. I've always suspected its like that for a reason. The Mustang Ranch, The old Bunny Ranch, etc are all out there. They all have bars, pool tables and what not. I'm not saying don't go, I'd just hire a driver. You don't want to end up in jail out there, and a local might be lots of help.
