Looking to go to Austin, in October. 3 couples looking to stay in the same location, at an Airbnb. Looking for the best area to stay.
We will have a rental car but really want to stay in an area where the six of us or the 3 girls or guys just want to walk around, do dome shopping, drinking or get something to eat.
I understand that we will have to travel to go to some of the food and venues we would like to do.
3 couple , age 60ish. Food, alcohol and cool experiences wanted.
TIA

I would book lodging now as that is the first weekend of ACL & every place will be booked solid that Saturday to watch TX-OU.

We always try to stay in East Austin and for us, the sweet spot is near Ceasar Chavez and Chicon St. There is a ton of bars and restaurants in that area and its all walkable. Our favorite bars are Drinks Lounge, Longplay and Buckets and they are all next to each other. Its an easy walk up to East 5th and 6th which has even more bars and restaurants.

Rainey St

I really like the Rainey St experience, plenty to do there. Usually stay @ VanZandt Hotel there, just off of Rainey St
