ATL Trip - May 31-June 2

What’s going on Braves fans? A buddy and myself are headed to Atlanta May 31-June 2 to catch a Braves game or two, and we’re looking for suggestions of places to eat, things to do, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated! TIA!

Hit up the bars and restaurants in The Battery beforehand. They’ve done a nice job with the new ballpark and have lots of good eats/entertainment immediately around the stadium.
If you feel like spending the big bucks, the Omni hotel at the stadium has rooms that have balcony’s looking into the stadium which would be fun. You could skip one game and sit on the balcony with a bottle of bourbon and watch from your balcony.
Other than that, I’d really recommend you go to Sweetwater brewery and do their tour and tasting.
If you are trying to hit a lot of the highlights, I’d recommend doing the city pass. It gets you into World if Coke, CNN Center, Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, and the College Football Hall of Fame on one ticket.
Seeing the laser show at Stone Mountain has always been a hit with visitors too. Take chairs, a blanket and a picnic dinner and enjoy the show. If the games are at night, you can also hike Stone Mountain or ride a gondola up the side.
Ormsbys is a fun bar with darts and bocce ball.
Ponce City Market is a fun time too- very hipster but different craft beers and restaurants. PCM is right by the Atlanta Beltline so you can hop on the beltline and walk down to New Realm brewing, they’ve got good beers, food, and views there too.
The Atlanta Food and Wine festival is also that weekend- you can check it out if you think you’d enjoy it.
Suntrust Park is outside of the city and staying there will make it a pain to get to all the other things and vice versa.
My advice would be unless you are staying in the Omni at the ballpark, stay downtown (Midtown or Buckhead) and catch a cab to the game.

There is plenty to do at the battery north of Atlanta as he said. Sport and Social is a cool, though crowded fun time.
PBR bar is also fun. You're about 20-30 away from downtown, but all the recommendations above are superb.
If you are in to hiking there re tons of fantastic trails within walking distance of the battery at Bob Callan Trail/Palisades unit of the Chattahoochee River national park. And Kennesaw Mtn about 25 minutes north of the Battery is an absolute gem of a park.
Be aware that the roads and traffic and drivers here are absolute shite at all hours of every day.
Stay off 285 as much as you can

I’m going the same time for the same reason. I’ll be of no help as I’m bringing my dad & 6 year old to the games and staying at the Battery.
One thing of note is that our SW flight was cancelled & moved from 12 to 8 am that Friday due to being scheduled on a MAX8.

Red Hare is a brewery that's a little closer to the area of the park (slightly further north). Not as nice of a spot as Monday Night, Sweetwater, or others, but if traffic looks bad getting into town or you just want to stay outside the perimeter, it's worth a shot. Quality beers.
Monday Night Brewing has 2 locations now and make fantastic beers, if heading into town, I'd put them on the list over Sweetwater. Red Brick rebranded to Atlanta Brewing Co and I think they've had a nice resurgence in their beer quality as well.
Antico Pizza at the battery is very good. Plenty of good eating options there.

It is the South's version of Gettysburg. You can't do it all in a day. But go to the main park, spend time in the museum, then hike up the mountain. They have shuttles too.
Very close to Braves area, right up I-75 about four exits, then about 5 minutes off the interstate.

I just came back from the UFC fight. Ate at this place called The Food Shoppe. Chef is from New Orleans. VERY good food, was very surprised.
