Off-roading tour. Prepare to get covered in dust and mud.

I went in like 2016. We rented a jeep and drove all over the island. Drive down to Baby Beach for more of a local feel. The sand dunes and California lighthouse was cool to see. There's a sleepy little cigar production shop too that was fun to visit. The bars on the Northside were nice and fun to walk around to in the evening.

Was there two years ago during COVID.

Nicest people of possibly anywhere I have ever been.

Had one of the best meals ever off the beaten path at a locals only restaurant up in town that the hotel bartender sent me to. Definitely get away from the tourist area to eat.

Great deals on watches and jewelry by the cruise ship port.

My wife and I (no pics) got married at the Manchebo in 2019 and have been back every year since. We just went and everything appears to be back to pre-covid numbers. Resort was pretty bare in 2020 and 2021. Are you going all inclusive? We usually go scuba diving at least once.

The nice thing about Manchebo is that you don't have to do the all inclusive for the entire time you are there. But it must be days in a row. Weird, but oh well. Do you have any specific questions about the island?

It’s been pre-COVID since I was there last. I got a rental car and went all over. Cool place. The locals all speak English and two or three other languages. Very well-run.

Have a great time there.

We go at least once a year. By far, the best restaurant I've found is Faro Blanco. It's the old lighthouse keeper's house. You'll be hard pressed to find a place with better views, service, atmosphere, and food! Definitely plan on going and being seated for sunset.

Food good at Manchebo? Good drinks and service? Some fun stuff to do near by or on the island?

Don't know much about Manchebo. Someone mentioned Baby Beach, you should check that out. Somewhat hidden gem in the Marriot Renaissance's private island. It's really, really nice and very different than the beaches you are probably used too. Protected lagoon-type beach, sit under coconut and palm trees while watching real flamingos walk by. Food and drinks right to your beach chair, as a model photo shoot happens in front of you. It's a pretty cool place. The Driftwood Restaurant isn't bad and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere with above average steak and seafood. LG Smith Chop House is more upscale. Service is excellent. Nice view of the downtown marina. The ATV/UTV rides are fun, but skip the tour to the national park. Not fun. They don't allow atv/utv and the ride across in a truck is brutal, boring, and the payoff is meh.
