The fiancé and I are going to Aruba for our honeymoon in October. We were considering the Divi Resort but she is having some second thoughts after reading some bad reviews. Anyone have any reviews, or resort recs? No budget per se, but trying to keep it reasonable around $500/night or so.

Search “Aruba reef beach apartment” on airbnb. Stay in unit 2 or 3 for $159 a night. Thank me later. Stay away from the resorts. Loud, crowded and trade wind exposure

This is where we stayed last year:
LINK /

Adult only, a water taxi picks you up in the hotel lobby and takes you to their private island, and it has a decent night life.

We are going back next month.

We looked at that one, I’m a Marriott member and should have enough points for a free night or two. How was the water, we were scared it looked a little shallow around the beach.

I like the regular Marriott next to the Ritz. Nice hotel, nice pool and beach, can walk to a lot of places. We've stayed there 3 times and will be back next year.

Gets deeper as you keep going. Very deep near the breaker. Really nice hotel and Yemanja across the street was great. Very easy cab ride down to resort row too if you wanted to go check out the area near the other resorts on the west end

It depends on what you want. There are different locations on the island that are different. The High Rise beach area(Palm beach) has everything, the Low Rise area is older, no tall buildings. We have a time share at LaCabana and love it. It’s like a semi retirement village, not a loud crowd at all. And it’s on Eagle Beach, which is consistently rated a top 5 beach.
We just got back, stayed at Renaissance this time. There is more to do within walking distance, but it’s more of a louder crowd. Their private island is nice though. I recommend renting a Jeep & just driving around the island, only 5 mi wide, no way to get lost

Looking to stay here over Labor Day weekend. Any reason not to stay here? How difficult is it to rent a palapa? TripAdvisor makes it sound like you have to get up at 530am each morning to reserve them.

We really enjoyed it. As far as the palapas - we were never awake before 9:30-10 and they were usually taken by then. Probably like most resorts with people reserving things. But like I said we enjoyed it and would return.

Yea, look at my recommendation earlier in thread. Get your own private beach and you won’t need a palapa. Get away from the trade winds, fat tourists & high rises. Rent a car and drive to baby beach and mangel halto away from the high rises

we were there last September for an anniversary trip. I second the marriot next to the ritz. Get a corner room in the front; has a rap around balcony overlooking beach and pool. Walkway that connects you to other resorts.

Stayed at Divi Gold which is one of 3 resorts basically all connected. I did all inclusive. I thought the food was good. I don’t think any of those 3 properties are anywhere close to some of the nicer properties in playa mujeres, Jamaica etc. they don’t have bartenders and waitresses taking orders on the beach or at the pool. You have to go to the bar at the pool or one of the beach bars.

I followed your other posts regarding the private beach. I think if we ever go back that's what we'll probably do. This trip we wanted a few other options. Nice hotel, casino, resort style pool, and of course clean beach. I can take or leave the all-inclusive because I don't like being confined to one place for dinner. I've heard there are other good options near by.

did you do any diving or snorkeling. I'm reading about baby beach and mangel halto beach. Tell me about this flamingo island? worth going? Also, recommend me a sunset cruise if you did any?
