Looking to take an anniversary trip (30) in December. Any recs? Looking for all-inclusive type deal if possible.

Going back to Aruba in May; love it there. We stayed in a house last time and are doing an AirBnB apartment this time. That said, I can't recommend any all-inclusives, but if you have any other questions, fire away.

Cool, how about what parts of the island would you recommend?

Aruba is Dutch and has a very high standard of living. Good places to eat all over the island. Divi has an all inclusive in the quiter low rise area. Riu has an all inclusive in the busier high rise area.

That's about it. Low rise area- quiter with more waves, high rise area- busier with more people and stuff going on and less waves on the beach.

2 best things about Aruba; one of the lowest crime rates in the Americas, no chance of a huricane.

2 worst things- pricey and crazy lines at the airport to leave.

Tour of the island is not worth the price.

If you play golf Tierra del Sol CC is way more worth it than Divi Golf course.

I have heard some of the sunset cruises are cool and romantic as well as some on-beach resturants.

Went to Aruba two years ago. We stayed at the RIU and I would advise against staying there if you want to go lay on the beach. There are two hotels there the Palace Aruba and Palace Antillas which is the old Westin next door. They form a funnel which inturns accelerates the winds on the beach and causes sand twisters and the wind always blows. Now the Palace Aruba was under renovation when we were there and I think our time there would have been a lot better if we could have used that pool area and beach area and got away from the open area between the builds. Down the beach there is Marriott which we walked by that looked very nice. But hey I won the trip and the vendor that took us could apologize enough that the staff at the RIU didn't tell them about the renovation until we got there. It was a good five day drunk on someone else's dime. We are planning to go back and probably stay at the Marriott.

We really like the Arashi Beach area. Pretty low key and the beach is really nice. If you like more people watching/beach action then Palm Beach is your place. Eagle Beach is somewhere in between the 2 as far as crowds, etc. We are actually staying on Eagle Beach this go round.

A couple of restaurants that were recommended to us by some regulars to the island that we ended up really liking are the Wacky Wahoo and Madame Jeanettes.

As others have said, it's a very safe island. Easily navigable, not sure if you plan on renting a car or not, being that you will be staying at an all inclusive. If so, you won't have any trouble getting around.

We did a guided dune buggy ride that was pretty cool and allowed us to see some parts of the island that we may not have on our own. We went fishing out of Oranjestad as well and did OK. My wife insists that we blow money taking charters when we go to the Caribbean, although we have some of the best fishing in the world 2 hours from our house. The good part about the charter we took is that there is a restaurant right next to the Marina that cooked our fish for us and served us when we got back.

Look up Aruba reef beach apartments on AirBnb in saveeneta. It's cheaper then the inclusives and way better.

I went by myself for 10 days last December. Stayed in Savaneta which is about 12 miles from the high rises. I don't have much in the way of recommendations besides the Flying Fishbone which is pretty cool. And I ate at Zeerover's several times which was also very good. You'd have to get a cab if you're staying in Eagle Beach or Palm Beach. Or take the bus. The public transportation is pretty efficient there.

I second the Flying Fishbone. Really neat restaurant where you can sit at tables with your feet in the water. Food was top notch as well. Google Mangel Halto beach and make sure you go there, it was unreal.
