Any guesstimate when this will reopen? The website just says "soon". Thanks!

I do know, but I have a strict policy to not help anyone who uses the word “guesstimate.” Sorry.

Wow, throwing high heat on the Travel Board. I thought that was reserved for the OT. SMDH.

Just making a joke.

If I did have information to share, I would. Hopefully it opens back up soon, but whenever it does be prepared for extra restrictions for a while.

Director of The Art Institute told the Tribune that he doesn't expect reopen until July (current stay-at-home order expires May 30, but many expect this to extend another month). That's fluid, of course, but aligns near the Governor Pritzker's reopen plans, which I don't agree with. Luckily, Mayor Lightfoot said she would work with the Governor to accelerate restaurant openings, which were set for late-June.

I know But in some ways it seems like large museums would be easier to deal with... large galleries allow social distancing, you certainly can't touch anything, etc.

It does seem like something that could be managed easier than a lot of things. But I would guess (just based on what's being done where I live, so this is purely speculative) that they'll limit the number of people allowed in at a time, require masks, etc.

Cook County is terrible. That’s going to be the problem and the State.

Good luck, I had a wonderful trip for next week booked to Chicago: Sox & Cubs tickets, museums, FL Wright homes tours, River trip, and more.

Everything I’d paid for was 100% refunded, so there’s that.

That does sound like a good trip. Those are all of my favorite things to do in Chicago I don't feel comfortable flying just yet, so I thought a good old fashioned summer road trip to Chicago would be fun, that's why I asked my original question. Maybe toward the end of summer things will be open again.

Quick search shows 30 grams of flower, 5 grams of concentrate, and 500 milligrams of THC for Illinois residents. If you’re from out of state, it’s half that amount.

The one issue I have is quite a few dispensaries are in the northernmost neighborhoods, which makes it difficult to get to. However, there is a dispensary near-ish my apartment called NuMed. It’s closer to downtown. It’s pretty average selection, but convenient. They don’t have flower all the time, which is annoying. I, typically, just get oil for my pen, though.

It’s easy to get, but prices are high and selection is meh (at least where I go).

General FYI for any Chicago summer travel... Mayor Lightfoot announced reopening starting June 3. For the time being, the below will be most-relevant:

- Bars, coffee shops and restaurants with outdoor seating, retractable roofs or removable walls in 50% of a room can open.

- Non-essential retail

- Personal service (i.e. salons and barbershops)

- Hospitality

- Parks and trails, excluding Lakefront

- CTA service was not cut during stay-at-home, so business as usual

Important note: Lakefront will remain closed.
