If so, did it feel safe? Did the roads during transfer to and back from the airport feel safe?

Yes, twice. First trip was only women. Second we brought along my parents and my teen daughter. The roads felt absolutely safe. We used Viajes for the second time for transfers from QRO. They were fine enough, but my husband hates vans. With 5 passengers plus luggage a van was probably their safest bet. For our first trip they picked us up in a suburban. Others use Bajiago. It’s a beautiful and safe place. Caution though it’s been really hot and dry and not everywhere has AC. I’ve been in January and March, but middle of April the temps started climbing.

Thanks. I’m traveling with a former expat resident so we will have locals/ friends driving us .Just curious since it’s been a long time since he was there.

Yes, all very safe and amazing. Stay at the rosewood if you can. The massage there is life changing.

Went last year with a kid.
Totally safe and beautiful.
We stayed in an absurd 3 story airbnb for cheap and bought a couple day passes to Rosewood.
I preferred CDMX, but my wife preferred San Miguel
We got a private driver to bring us to Guanajuato and some ruins. Happy to share her info. $30 per hour.

We flew into queretaro with the sane driver picking is up.
She was suggested by some friends with a home there.
There is another airport near too.
