American treats their passengers with higher status the best, imo, but as a general passenger it is probably the worst of the big 3. But does have good redemptions.

I hadn’t flown United in a while and did so this weekend and was surprised at how pleasant it was.

I have been “lucky” (dont know if you can call it that) to have flown first class on all 3 in the past few weeks and would say United was the best out of the three. Anecdotal but hopefully helpful.

And I agree with the others, being in lake Charles, united makes the most sense for you.

Travel can be a chore but if you do it right, and enough you can make it easier. I used to really enjoy it: the bustle of the airport, people watching, the excitement of going somewhere new. But now it seems like a chore.

I don’t know about United but I do know that mileage travel is far less expensive on American than it is on Delta.

This is a huge one for me.
I was always flying United or American, b/c i got those cards first with the 50,000 or 75,000 bonus miles. I've used up my United points and now flying mostly American but will likely use up those points this summer.

Right now BTR to LAX in December (LAX is a hub for all 3)
American around 20K points round trip.
United around 20K points round trip.
Both had some around 15K and some around 22K depending on times.

Delta at 40K points round trip.

I recently got the Delta Amex card and got the 85,000 points, and then an additional 20,000 for getting an additional card for my wife. Go to look at booking travel to Europe and it's basically 85,000 points through Delta, and 50,000 points through American.
And i get that Delta is usually a nicer plane and what not, but at the end of the day, i'm still on a uncomfortable plane sitting next to a stranger i don't want to be that close to.

There are 100 ways to skin the redemption cat, including transferring miles to a partner airline on international flights. But also remember that AA travel to Europe will be on Iberia or BA, and BA's three and four figure fuel surcharges are the stuff of legend.

I don't get why people redeem miles for domestic travel. It's just too cheap to pay with anything but cash. You can get anywhere in the country for $300.

In Houston the answer is United, thread over. Otherwise, DeathValley is correct.

United by a wide margin, AA has been terrible the last few times I've flown with them over the past year
