Looks like y'all will have two more options going forward, especially nice they're not on E-145s or CRJ-200s. Twice daily to laffy, starts April 2nd.
quote:

The latest additions for the Fort Worth-based carrier are to two destinations in Louisiana — Alexandria (AEX) and Lafayette (LFT).

Starting April 2, American will fly from Charlotte (CLT) to both AEX and LFT with its regional affiliate PSA Airlines, according to Cirium schedules and confirmed by the carrier. Both flights will be operated by a CRJ-900 offering a first-class cabin, as well as extra-legroom economy and standard coach seating.

Alexandria flights will be operated once-daily in each direction, while Lafayette will be operated twice-daily in each direction. The flights are already bookable with introductory fares beginning at around $100 each way.

Flight times from LFT:
LFT- 7:00 AM Charlotte- 10:30 AM
LFT- 1:30 PM Charlotte- 5:00 PM

Flight times from AEX:
AEX- 7:00 AM Charlotte- 10:30 AM

I rarely travel up the east coast so not really meaningful for me.

I wish someone would bring direct flights to Denver back or some seasonal Destin/Pensacola flights.

I have been flying out of alexandria a lot lately and its been nice. I live here but so often would drive way the hell out of the way for much cheaper fares. Now their fares are often cheaper/same than MSY. Such an easy little airport.

I live and fly mostly out of Lafayette, but i always compare cost with AEX, LCH, BTR and MSY (mainly for direct options).

I can drive an hour if it saves a good bit of money.

CRJ-900s are really pieces of crap. They have over-extended bodies.

Give me a CRJ-700 if I have to fly on one. The 700s are the sweet spot for that type of aircraft.

Anything is better than the -200s. I could see the -900s being terrible in the last row, but up front they're pretty quiet. Feels like the plane strives to be an E-175 but isn't quite there.

In any case, glad those of you on here have another option besides DFW/ATL/IAH though I haven't heard great things about CLT operations recently.

Eta: As I posted this I looked at BTR-CLT operations and see the flight today is delayed from 149pm to 830pm
