Looking at taking the wife (no pics) on a trip for 3-4 night trip during the first week of July. Ideally fly direct from MSY. Budget $3-$4,000. Prefer somewhere on the beach. Have been to Cabo, Cancun many times. Any other recs?

Turks and Caicos is really nice and not hard to travel to. 3 nights you can stay within budget. You would have to work a little harder for 4 nights to make numbers work but you probably can.

For a 3 night beach trip my requirement is making it to the beach in time for lunch on the day I start my trip. From NOLA direct -- LINK /, that means Cancun, Miami, LA, San Diego, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or Ft. Myers. If you are open to connecting that opens up Carribean Islands, and even most of Central America, but you will take 2/3 or more of a travel day getting there.

For a quick trip with the wife I'm doing San Diego, Cancun, or Miami. All places where you get off the plane and make it to beach in 1 hour from stepping off the plane if everything lines up right.
