I’m not taking a chance until this is truly over. Too much trouble to plan all that and have some idiot gubment employee somewhere decide they need to protect everyone again!

So me and my wife are looking at going to London this summer. I keep seeing they have ended all restrictions. So does that mean if I’m not vaccinated I don’t have to test or anything like that?

I just don’t trust that any of the governments will not choose to ramp up the restrictions again for political or whatever reason, solely based on how crazy people have been over this. I’m not sure about the current restrictions in Europe.

My daughter was there in February. She had to take the Day 2 test but the person that administered the test indicated the results would not be sent in. It was negative. No mask and no request to see a vaccine card. She had to test to come back to the US.

Ok, so I'm back.
U.K. requirements are to be vaccinated and fill out a passenger locator form. That's it. Masks are recommended in certain settings, but not required.
France: As of now, you have to have two shots and a booster; Masks are required on public transport and medical settings. Elsewhere, just recommended. It was easy to get a Covid Pass (Pass Sanitaire), but that program is ending in a week.
I worried and worried over this for weeks, but once there, it really wasn't a big deal. I lost maybe a total of an hour getting the covid pass and the pre-departure test. Well worth it in my opinion to get to go and do the things I did.
Return to US, you still need a negative test taken the day before you travel.
This will all probably be different in a month.
I will sum up my trip with photos and such later this week.

Was Paris empty?
No, not really. I was told that the crowds were light and that about half the people were French, coming in before the start of the peak season. The Louvre was fricking packed, and people were very rude and pushy.

So if you are going to England, you don’t have to be vaccinated it looks like. Just need a negative test before you fly and then take another one within a day of landing from what I’m reading on their government website.
Also it looks like you don’t even have to quarantine even if you test positive so why do you have to test in the first place? So stupid

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like France is getting rid of restrictions. We are scheduled to fly out on March 26.
4 days in northern France to visit battlefields for me.
3 days in Nice for her.
5 days in Paris to celebrate our anniversary.
I’m pumped.

That’s normal. But now you can say you’ve been and next trip you won’t feel the need to go.
