Alaska cruise cancelled for July 11-18 so we've decided to drive up from Seattle to Whistler, BC for 3 nights and then spend 2 days on San Juan Islands. Booked at Westin in Whistler Village for first 3 nights and got a house on Orcas Island near Moran state park for the 2 days on San Juan. Does anyone have any experience visiting either of these places that can offer some tips on things to do/see/eat ? I wasn't sure about Whistler during the summer but have read that it's still a good time to visit. We just wanted to still take a fun trip and I'm hoping/kinda assuming there won't be too many restrictions in play by mid July. And tips or info would be appreciated.
TIA

Yeah I'm no pro but I love to bike.

Dumb question . Do you take the gondola up and rent from somewhere or do you rent somewhere in the village and take a trail up the mountain. I really don't know Jack about Whistler and my mountain biking experience is limited to kisatchie forest near Alexandria, la.

Beautiful area. Whistler is great summer or winter. It's been 10 years or so since Iv'e been in the area but a great place to visit.

I've been to Whistler twice but both times were just day trips out of Vancouver. The most recent was in 2017 after an Alaskan cruise. We were there Sep 1st. It was probably about 80 degrees.

Based on my limited experience three nights seems like a lot of time there if it is not ski season.

There were a lot of bikers when we were there in '17. They took the ski lift up and road the trails down. I do not know if you can rent bikes but would assume you can.

The drive up is great and Whistler Village is very nice but it is not very big. You can probably find a map on line. When we were there a band was playing in one court yard and a lady was singing in another. A lot of restaurants with out side seating.

About 1/2 way between Vancouver and Whistler I do remember seeing a ski lift attractions that someone posted about on the TB. As I recall they recommended doing that but I don't know where it goes. You will pass it though.

I shot a couple of short videos; one of the band and one of the bikers but I don't know how to post them. But here are a few pictures.

Whistler is great in the summer. The drive from Vancouver to Whistler rivals any top scenic drive.

Lost Lake is a great spot to veg out during the day.

Awesome pics.

The pics don’t do the actual scenery justice.
