5.5 Hr Layover in Juneau

Took a look at the American site and they were running some good Christmas week award fares. I ended up booking a one-way Anchorage-Juneau-Seattle-Florida ticket for 15,000 miles. I'll have a 5.5 hour layover in Juneau in late December, wondering what is a good use to spend my short time in Juneau?

I have not been, but a quick search tells me you can get a ride out to Mendenhall Glacier to see that, only about a 7-10 minute drive to the visitor's center.
You can also take a 12 minute taxi drive downtown and walk the downtown area and along the seawall

Thanks! Yeah i saw the glacier was very close to the airport but wasn't sure in December if that road stays open or conditions in the area. I'll probably explore downtown for a bit as well. The option presented itself to me to explore a new city so figured why not?

Mendenhall Glacier.
There are more impressive glaciers around but not more impressive ones that you can drive to.
See it while you can. I have been there twice and it shrunk noticeably between visits.
Whale watching is available but I don’t know if you will have time to do that.
Juneau is a nice town to walk around They have a couple of old, historic and atmospheric saloons and just up the hill is a little Russian Orthodox Church worth a look.

Def Menfenhall glacier. Take the short hike down to waterfall. Have a beer at the restaurant.

Juneau is mostly a dump. It is by far the worst stop on any Alaskan cruise.
