Need ideas on a short notice quick getaway this weekend. Preferably within driving distance that isn’t the beach. Anyone have any good ideas? Just my girlfriend and I.

If you look through the first three pages there are several similar threads if you want some different ideas.
What is your location?
How far do you consider driving distance?

Being that the cities everywhere seem like a bummer to choose and it being so dang hot outside, it’s tough finding good ideas for these short trips.
I know you say no beach, but if you want some upscale ideas, the Water Color Inn or the Pearl Hotel down that way would be nice for pool lounging, spa, day drinking, and maybe shopping for the wife. I’m sure they have walking paths and bike rentals.
As usual, the Grand Hotel in Point Clear.
The small towns all around might work for a B&B or the boutique hotels. Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian, old town Covington (Southern Star Hotel), Natchez, etc.
Other than that the only other thing I can think of are the casinos in Biloxi or Lake Charles if you are into gambling or hanging by the pools.

Thanks. Yeah it’s tough because the usual places I’d like to go will suck because of all the restrictions. :(

That's a lot of damn driving for a three day weekend.

Natchez , MS? Can find a BnB that’s open, preferably one with a pool.
Maison Madeline BnB on Lake Martin outside of St Martinville, if you like to paddle/kayak and bird-watch
Or do a staycation and check into the Windsor Court in NO. The pool is open, and the views from the river facing rooms are still nice. Breakfast in bed while watching the ships go by.
