Looks like the resorts got snow all the way to the base. I'm sure it's not much, but better than nothing.

Keep the snow dances coming

I've done the same thing twice going from PS to Wolf Creek. You should be fine with awd. We had a front wheel drive suv both times. Had a few issues the second trip as we caught heavy snow one afternoon and had to put on chains to get to rental house. They clear the road up the mountain after a hard snow. Great place to ski.

Has anyone here put down any days yet?

It’s brutal out here in southern Oregon.

My local hills (Mt Bachelor and Hoodoo) have pushed their opening dates back indefinitely.

Last year at this time, I had at least 15 days down.

I’m dying to go ride.

Headed to Alaska in 2.5 weeks, will get a few early season days in there! Weather pattern looks to be shifting to PNW favor in the next week or two so fingers crossed for y'all

Yup. Their upper mountain looks good, lower mountain could use more snow. They're in a warm stretch too over the next 4 days, but snow once that's gone

Yup.

Word.
I was there during Covid. Had to get nasal swabs to clear Anchorage airport.

Anyway, nice enough resort. Starting to become dated but it was well maintained.

Indoor pool is giant. Hot tub is also massive.

Mountain is on the small side. It felt like I had ridden the entire thing by day one.

The CAT operations out of the resort are incredible. My CAT day was my favorite, obviously. Chugach Powder Guides.

Cheers man. Gonna be fun.

Heading to Banff in a little over two weeks, some decent snow up there and I hope they can get a bit more...I can't wait to get back on the slopes again.

Heli trips scare me because they just get grounded so much.

Or altitude restricted. Whatever they want to call it:

I swear, snow CATS are the way.

I've done 6 days so far and have only been grounded for about 2 hours total.

The companies have minimum vertical guarantees so you get a refund if the weather does happen to get crazy.

I'd probably welcome a day or 2 off amidst the 7 days anyway though. I'm not going to be able to walk at the end of it if I do all 7 and get over 100,000 ft of vert.

That’s a great response.

You’ve probably done more heli than any of us.

Your perspective is much appreciated!

Still waiting on resorts to open up in Utah, but today was a good start to what is hopefully a big week. 6” of beautiful powder down at my house. I think Snowbasin got 8”. Should snow Tuesday night and some time this weekend. Praying we’ll open this week. But I have training Saturday and Sunday, so either way I’m riding.

Here to say thanks for the info Fargobison. The trip to Banff was awesome. They actually received quite a bit of snow before we arrive so skiing was great. We skied two days at Sunshine and one day at Ski Louise. Both places have several suns open. Bluebird steakhouse was really good. Another good spot the family an I enjoyed was The Grizzly House. We will definitely go back. Hope you enjoy it when you go. Thanks again.

Glad you had a great time! Banff is one of my favorite places on Earth, I've been counting down the days until I get back. Will have to check out the Grizzly House, heard good things but have never tried it.

Headed to Breck with a group at the end of Feb - just finalized our itinerary. Hoping for some good powder, which, given Breck's altitude, shouldn't be much of an issue.

This is an oddball question, but do any of you baws have a recommendation for a good pair of ski helmet headphones? Like ones that are transparent (can hear external noise) and have voice compatibility?

I use these. They work great. Don't remember them costing that much though. Must have caught a sale.

First big snow of the season coming to the Wasatch...

Big Sky-Jackson-Northern Colorado should also do very well with the Northwest flow pattern.
