Caught my first winter weather product of the season, for 5-10" and gusts pushing 55 mph. Christmas will be bountiful in ski country.

Nice! I've got a place in Tahoe City booked Thursday night to try and ski Squaw Valley/Palisades Friday, but will likely make my way over to South Lake Tahoe on Friday to ski Kirkwood and Heavenly on Sat/Sun. It's just me on this trip, always nice to meet a fellow TD'er

Finally made it to Canyons and the Epic app is lying because half the runs the app said were open werent... so I spent about 2.5 hours lapping the same 4 groomers

Overall I made the most of today given the very limited terrain. I liked the bump runs off McConkeys Lift. I did McConkeys Bowl once and it was tougher than double black diamonds bumpers at Vail or Beaver Creek. It was steep as shite combined with massive irregular shaped moguls. Saw a lot of people falling in their attempts at it....and I was no different, I had a spill on it as well and now have a massive bruise on my left calf from it

5 day total at Kirkwood is up to 113”

When the totals are swinging 40” it’s going to be a monster.

Waiting on the 06z HRRR to do it's thing, because you just love what you see from the 00z suite.

Park City folks, looking at somewhere around 24-30" of snow through Christmas.

Breck looks to be in the 8-16" range, with potential to overperform the way the models are coming in. Copper will do similarly.

Hell, I'm thinking I get 4-8" at the house. Models are suggestive of more but with the wind direction and how we typically perform, idk.

The most incredible runs (in Colorado) are coming in for Wolf Creek though.

GFS ensembles: 20" by Christmas and a staggering 38" by NYD.

Euro ensembles: 18" by Christmas but a whopping 47" by NYD. They tend to run a little hot in these parts though.

I'm so pumped to plow pow basically the entire week in Crested Butte. Just got to hope I can fly in to GUC tomorrow. Might have to do MTJ or worst case DEN and rent a car

I hope to make Wolf Creek eventually. I know getting there can be tricky and there isn't much to do besides skiing.

CuseTiger:

Sounds good man, we’ll bring skiing Heavenly Saturday for sure, and watching LSU basketball game that day too. I believe we play Tennessee

Got snow on Fremont and Vail passes currently, a little early. Liking the model trends, especially the high res stuff, for Summit and Vail. Suspect we'll be talking a foot plus for most of those spots.

Thanks for the updates. We are starting to see flurries in Beaver Creek a little earlier than expected.

OpenSnow quit giving free details this morning. I broke down and got the full subscription.

Looks like his plan worked.

I got the one month trial for this series of storm systems. Good way for me to learn some details of individual mountains. Plus I need to fill in some gaps on the Utah mountains as well.

All the guidance has converged today with differences between High-Res totals, global model totals, and ensemble means are running within an inch or two for the I70 mountains.

Good thing all this snow is coming on Christmas Eve right? I70 going to be a warzone tomorrow.

It really is a nice product. All the forecast, snow stakes, and summaries in one spot is thought to beat.

I don’t know or atleast I hope not. I’m going to try tomorrow and Sunday if the roads stay open. Hopefully the antlered Subarus bring their holiday compassion.

It'd be worth it for me to pay for it, and I dont need the analysis.

Tomorrow, I think Vail Pass is closed for most of the day. Mostly because I expect wrecks with Christmas Eve traffic. Sunday, at least right now doesnt look too bad for driving out though probably some snow coming in.

Here in Twin Lakes, flurries continue. Enough to add a trace to the remaining snow on the ground. Snow quality is improving some, bigger flakes surviving as the boundary layer cools and saturates.

Steady snow set in along the high peaks on the divide.

ETA: falling at a steady clip here now. Earlier than I expected to start accumulating here. All good signs.

ETA2: Got a surprise 1/2" by 6 pm. Very wet, reminds me of east coast snow. Models only had a trace on me by now, with things picking up later tonight. 31 degrees 94% humidity.

Copper has 3-4" thus far.

Vail sitting on 2"

Breck is 3-4" as well.

Just starting up in Park City it looks like, but falling at a good rate.

Going nuclear in Twin Lakes. Huge flakes, 31 and 95% humidity can do that. Creeping up on an inch already.
