Which is best and would be smoothest transition for my wife who is hesitate to drop dish?

We use Netflix (use parents log in), HBO now (likely to drop after GOT, but wife and daughter like sesame street), and Hulu (ad version that comes with Spotify)

Direct TV now basically makes you pay for HBO. The plan with sec network is 70 bucks a month so unless you want hbo I would go with YouTube

If you got in at the beginning of DTVN not sure how anything else is a better deal.

I have the grandfathered plan and I’m about to switch. YTTV has all 4 locals, Dtv does not

Me too. DTVnow just raised their prices again. I'm paying $50/month now. Up from $35 when I signed up. No locals.

I called and bitched about it, threatened to switch due to the price increase and no locals, they gave me a $10 credit.

I only pay $50 now, with HBO. I have ATT cell service, so they throw in HBO for free. Right now, the price is too good to switch, but to be honest, 105 channels is the same old game the cable and satellite companies play. We may watch 10 channels on a regular basis. If they continue their price hikes, I may be willing to switch due to the fact that I can't get locals with them.

The DTVNow rep pointed out that they didn't have a contract with the local stations in my area, but drooped that potato really quick when I pointed out that their competitors do.

To be honest, if it wasn't for live sports, I'd probably drop the whole thing. Sports and news is the only thing we really watch live.

Why not just get an antenna?

Do the free trial of each to see which you prefer, and acclimate your wife to the change. I tried both, and liked YTTV better, but went with Direct because at the time it offered all the locals and YTTV did not.

I like Direct TV Now. Personally, it has all the channels we watch. Wife likes HBO, kids like Nick Jr, and I like ESPN.

The only thing I miss is SEC Network. But I use my parents login if I want to watch that.

YouTubeTV just went up to $50 from $35 too. I do get all of the locals.

I know at our house some of the channels are difficult to receive. We live in the middle of BR too. I probably need an attic or outdoor antenna but I don't want to bother with all of that. I just choose a streaming service that gets them.

I've had DirectTV Now since it launched practically, grandfathered in at $40 still with locals and 100 or so channels.

I'm scared if I call and try to get this, they'll screw up my current setup and tell me they can't fix it.

Check out PS Vue, too. I've had it for the past 4 years. Haven't had any problems.

It didn't originally but it does now (at least in BR). We get all 4 locals live.

Also, FYI in Nola we get Fox, CBS and NBC locals on DTVN, so 4, 6 and 8.

Baton Rouge gets CBS, Fox and .... Telemundo (LOL)

Direct TV Now works perfectly and did get in before the price hike which I was told would not effect my locked in plan. So my $15/mos with HBO works just fine. I do have a local antenna in the event my internet goes down along with my plex
