Yik Yak Just Committed Suicide

So I wasn't sure where to put this, but this seems ok. For anyone who doesn't know Yik Yak used to be an app where you could register your school e-mail and post either anonymously or under a username. Anonymity was a big selling point and so was the ability to post with other students 1,000 miles away.
However the latest update killed the anonymity of the app and more importantly got rid of herds. Which pretty much means you can only post to your local area not your college. In other words if you live off campus or aren currently on campus you're fricked
Before the update today Yik Yak had a near perfect raiting, as of now they have just over a one star.

I live in Atlanta (home of Yik Yak) and by the time I even heard of it, the fad seemed to have passed. I just don't understand what possible use people have for it and nobody I've talked to has ever used it.
I hope the kids who created it get paid before people realize it's kind of a bland product.

Imagine being in a lecture hall and having the ability to anonymously message everyone around you.

Yik Yak was great for a time but like you said, the developers fricked it up by not understanding their product and the key differentiator that made it more enjoyable than other apps.
Yeti is following Yik Yaks path which is very unfortunate. Yeti was AWESOME last year
