I missed the first part but new Mac studio and Mac Pro

LINK

Live Blog

IOS 17 now up

updates to phone, FaceTime and messages.

Something about checkin with messages.

I'll try and update with interesting updates.

Namedrop feature, nice feature that will make sharing numbers easier.

Updates to Auto correct. Basically more accurate dictation and autocorrect. (this can be a big feature update, as autocorrect has been a pain in the past)

New Journal app, (I use Dayone so I'll be curious to see if this replaces it) Nothing really new just now apple makes their own app now.

Standby feature, but maybe be only available for iPhone 14 and on. Like turning a iPhone into a bedside smart clock.

Siri to wake instead of Hey Siri. Offline maps, pets in albums photos.

Missed from earlier Live Stickers.

nothing big just some new apps.

Ipad OS 17

Widgets first, can interact with apps without going into the app. Cool but just a minor feature

Ipad now has Lock Screen customization like the iPhone.

Live activities. including multiple timers.

Health coming to iPad.

Again this is kinda meh so far. I know people are hoping for Mac type apps available on iPad pros. People want iPad to be Mac lite but more portable, instead of a bigger mobile device.

PDF app, does some of the same things adobe acrobat pro does.

Live collaboration. Cool for college students I guess.

MacOS Sonoma

Based on the Sonoma Valley, which lots of vineyards are located.

Widgets are first, can be moved around the screen. Nice update but nothing groundbreaking.

Gaming on Mac next, Mac is way behind on gaming, but this should be interesting.

Game mode, basically makes sure puts most of its powerful processors to run a game better.

Some random game coming to the Mac. Looks impressive.

new video effects for video conferencing

safari getting updates, privacy updates, passkey sharing, profiles. Web Apps basically turns a website into an app with little effort on developers end.

wow that was kinda underwhelming for MacOS

focus on AirPods next.

Adaptive audio, basically blocks out some noises and lets others in automatically.

automatic switching updated and improved.

Airplay next

Easier connecting to devices

Airplay in hotels.

Music and CarPlay

SharePlay to the car (must be connected to CarPlay) basically allows multiple people to make suggestions without passing along a single phone.

TVOS

FaceTime on appleTV.

Zoom coming to appleTV

WatchOS 10 (rumored to be a big update)

Widgets from the clock face, smart stacks basically.

snoopy and Woodstock come to Apple Watch.

cycling features for the watch.

can connect to bluetooth bike sensors can calculate FTP, or how much power you can do for an hour. Zones for biking.

some features only needs an iPhone.

compass and maps

last known place you had cellular
even elevation on the compass
some other cool hiking features

now onto health

mental health is first. can log mood and emotions on Apple Watch or iPhone. Big update IMO, but again something avaliable in third part apps, now come natively to iPhone and watch.

something to help with Myopia.

Screen distance on iPad, iPhone

seems to be wrapping up, but I'm guessing one more thing. (yep one more thing)

Augmented reality headset coming up.

applevision pro

pretty hyped up product, will apple deliver? Will it be reasonably priced. I've heard we may not get this till 2024.

They are saying this will be as revolutionary as the mouse with the personal computer, click wheel with iPods, multi touch on iPhone. Man they are hyping this thing up.

IDK but I feel like this will take some time for people to get use to. this thing is big and looks awkward, yeah the features are cool but imagine being the only person wearing this in any environment.

Now Bob Iger is on stage from Disney

This thing looks amazing, but Id imagine it will be thousands of dollars

lots of features with this thing, Apple is really hyping up this new product, could it send apple to the next level, or will this be a flop.

The espn stuff looks kinda cool, but most big games i'm watching with friends, drinking.

The rest of this thing looks like a parody to me. This is what they've been working on for years?

IDK what to think of this new device. I'm thinking wow that is amazing, but why would I use this over my computer. Yeah it would be cool to watch a movie on this, but the price of this is likely going to be too high to me even to consider trying it.

I am really interested how this will function when used for work. It would be great if I could ditch the 4 monitors on my desk and just use this.

Watching a movie on it looks like it could be amazing. I wonder if two people can watch the same video feed at the same time.

Looks like the world as we know it just changed today. There is before iPhoen and after iPhone. Now there is before Vision Pro and after Vision Pro.

Fortunately this thing will be too expensive for mass consumption for at least a few years.

Lol what a joke can't believe they used the app home screen as a selling point for the Vision Pro.. Then priced it at 3500 dollars with only 2 hours of battery.

I know a lot of Apple people will buy anything but there is no compelling feature

might as well buy a fully modded M2 MacBook Pro instead of buying the vision pro. It's the same price.

certain things need to happen for this to be a real success...

1) the cord has to go. what the actual f*** this is 2023...why is there a big arse cord?

2) the device is still far too big and ridiculous looking. the size needs to get down to at least the size of swim goggles and not look like something a retard would wear.

3) $3,500 might as well be $30,500. its far too expensive. get this down to the cost of a flagship phone.

I was more intrigued by the simpler things like OS updates to WatchOS, tvOS allowing phones/ipads to use facetime and display on TVs using apple TV.

If they could just friggin put macOS on ipad, I'm a happy camper. Charge me 199$ and be done with it.

Imagine going back to 2006 and telling everyone that $1100 phones will sell like hot cakes. You'd get laughed out of the room. In this particular case the early adopters will need to pay a high price but people will absolutely do it. The price and size will go down over the next 5 years.

I would imagine if they come down to the cost of their flagship phone it will be lighter on features. People will buy this thing, but this feels more like the higher end MacBook pros, Mac pros, etc. which sell but nothing like the lower end models. Apple really hyped this up but I doubt these things sell like hotcakes at first, but I'm excited to see where they go with this in the next few years, but it's likely far away from a mass consumer item, rather a luxury, or people with lots of money type product.

It's only $1,100 if you agree to wear it 24/7 and watch ads in AR mode when you're not using it.

VisionOS is the future. Obviously not necessarily the first gen and price.

But I’m a huge tech nerd, work a six figure tech job. I was mind blown just imagining the engineering, innovation, and imagination that went into it.

The average consumer can’t see it yet. Hell I hated all things VR and AR. I went into that presentation skeptical, thinking it was gimmick.

Ten minutes in, I knew this would be another iPhone moment. I sat back in awe and just thought what a time to be alive.

Yes I’m buying one for $3499 haha. Time to start the sinking fund.
