I have some AirPods Pro that are about 5 yrs old. There is a constant hiss or crackle in the left one. I have checked online and it looks like some type of known defect….unfortunately they are too old for Apple’’s replacement program. My efforts to fix the issue using online tutorials have been futile.

1. Anybody have any great solution to permanently fix this issue?

2. If not, what is the best alternative to buy now considering sound quality and durability as the main considerations (whether Apple or any other brand)?

I love my airpods. Even though there's no EQ, there are settings you can use together with the Spotify EQ, where you get great sound overall and great bass. Not overbearing bass but they have a great sound stage.

And the ANC is insane. I just flew and it was basically in almost complete silence. They also have Adaptive Transparency which is a mix between ANC and transparency which is great too.

Get new AirPod Pros. They are terrific. I plan to get a new pair every few years and they just keep getting better.

Another reason I left Apple they just can't give people choices it was so annoying. Add a no update button for AirPods that was also so annoying I mean how hard can that be to allow people to make sure you're on the latest software. Lemme just set my air pods next to my phone and hope smh
