Will Sonos app issues affect my potential setup?

I'm thinking about getting a Sonos Arc with Sub Gen 3 and Era 300s. I'll only use this in one room as a Home Theater system for now. Maybe in the future I'll do something like expand to other rooms. For now I just want to replace 25 year old Paradigm speakers (and 6 year old sub and Onkyo receiver) and easily use Dolby Atmos.
But for what I want it for now, are the app issues a concern? My setup would be running all of my gaming and streaming systems to the TV and using eArc to run the TV to the Sonos Arc through another HDMI cable. Then controlling volume through the TV remote. Due to ease of setup I may just start with the Arc and either the surrounds or the sub, then add the other later. But knowing me I'll go all in at once.

I haven't noticed any issues with my Arc, sub, and One SLs setup with a tv. The only app issue I had was trying to stream music from my phone. But I'm not having that issue anymore.

this. the nonsense has started to calm down. i have no idea when apps on my phone get updated but i can actually go into plexamp, select a sonos speaker and it works.
by the same token, going into the sonos app and selecting plex or apple music as the source seems to be working again.
how the frick do you mess up something fundamental like that?

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. Now I need to get someone to take an 85 inch TV off the wall so I can run 5 HDMI wires to and from it. Then I’ll probably pull the trigger.

They pushed out another update today :fingerscrossed:

The new update seems to be a step in the right direction. They finally brought back dual mono so my outdoor system is no longer garbage.

Yes, that’s been an issue for many commercial systems out there. Glad they fixed it.

I have someone coming Tuesday to run the wires so I can hook up everything. I just checked the prices and didn't realize Sonos was on a big sale until recently. It's going to cost an extra $500 or so than it would have a week ago. Oh well.
I did read more comments on Reddit that confirm the app updates don't seem to mess with someone using it as just a home theater setup.
I have thought about buying 2 of the 3 components I need and then adding the other one later. I'll probably buy it all but just wondering what anyone's recommendation would be if I go that route. Sonos Arc with 2 Era 300s for rears (and buy Sub Gen later); or Sonos Arc with Sub Gen (and add 2 Era 300s later)?

Where did you find the sale?

They were running a Fathers Day Sale.
I’d buy the sub before the rears

Like poster above said. It was everywhere. I have never considered or looked at Sonos before a week ago so I didn’t know it was a temporary price. Figured that was the new normal.
