Hmm, well I downloaded the full DVD ISO. It's 3.9 GB. I'll try a clean install tonight to see if it's possible. I prefer to upgrade anyway as long as it doesn't break shite.

All I'm getting now is a window with a loading icon and it says "working on it"
Not sure if its because I'm using my parent's crappy wifi or if its just overloaded right now. Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow.

I've got an older 7 too. I'm going through the upgrade now, so I'll let you know how my performance fares later.

From what I understand, you don't get the option to upgrade until it has be fully downloaded (in the background). It might be your hardware.

I just went through one round of massive updates. In the end and after a restart, I still have 7. After a bit, I got a new notice. More updates coming now.

I just bought a laptop a couple weeks ago and before I left for work this morning there were a million updates that were taking forever so I left it open for them to install (pending battery life). I'll see what has or hasn't changed in a couple hours

Boots and runs faster than W7 did. Additional functionality over W7 as well.

I just installed it on my laptop. It keeps rebooting every 2 or 3 minutes. I'm not sure if my laptop is just old or what. I barely had chance to look around on it.

Turns out, I had to follow a link from an email our administrator got that I did not get despite reserving 10 a while back, and despite her not reserving it. I am fairly confused. It's loading now, slowly.
