When would you recommend upgrading my TV?

I have an LG CX 77 inch that I love and have had for over two years. My question is essentially when will it be worth going to the new technology that is better than OLED?

probably in another 8-10 years.

Doesn't exist yet, you got 3 or 4 years.

I would ride that TV until it dies.

Only reason to upgrade your tv is if you need/have the room for a bigger size; eg 85” which is the common size for led based TVs.
Many people, myself included, feel that size is king with TV selection. I have a 77” Sony oled thats only 2 years old, but I’d trade it for a high end 85” mini-led. But, OLED unquestionably offers the best picture quality available.

I would be one that would disagree with this statement. I have the room for 85" but I couldn't imagine going that big. My 60" is plenty for me.
In the past year I have come to appreciate what I guess I would call the processing power of a TV. A little over a year ago my living room TV went out so I upgraded and got a new one and it was great. A month later I had a lightning strike that fried it along with my router, receiver, and other equipment. Since I had just bought that TV and had to replace other things, I went with something a little cheaper but same brand and generally many of the same features as the one I was replacing.
By far the biggest difference I noticed between the 2 models was that the more expensive one I had before was way smoother operating in the smarthub and loading apps. This cheaper model is much more laggy and can be frustrating at times while trying to navigate in different streaming apps.
It is something I never noticed before but now sticks out like a sore thumb. I definitely appreciate how much smoother the higher end models perform compared to cheaper ones.

Size is first dictated by viewing distance, second by available space on the wall.
A larger TV provides a more cinematic viewing experience.

I'd roll with that for a while unless you want an 83" OLED
You won't see a significant upgrade in PQ with anything currently available unless you need the brightness of a mini LED

Depends on use.
I’d say you have at least 3 more years.
